Was Adolf Hitler of Jewish and African descent? A recent DNA study by Belgian researchers suggests that the Fuhrer may have been more closely related to ethnic groups he considered “subhuman” than to his “Aryan” compatriots.

This (the jew part) was talked about in the 40s when he was in power. Of course we haven't had the DNA part, that's new. But didn't his half-brother, or cousin, threaten to expose his jewish ancestory and get a bunch of perks to keep him quiet?

Ya, did nobody think this was odd at the time? I thought this was screwed up when I learned about Hitler in grade school. The guy's like as non-aryan looking as can be imagined. Couldn't they have found a pretty nordic boy as a cover, with Hitler feeding him lines?

Reading the article, it talks about his North African ancestry and that is very plausible to me.

Doubtful. The man (socially insane as he was) had once in a lifetime charisma. If you've ever watched one of his dictations, it's not completely unthinkable that a large, economically ruined country decided to rally behind him. It's just too bad he decided to join the dark side at such a young age.

I walked through the Holocaust Museum in DC yesterday. I've studied tons about WWII and knew about 99% of what was said and presented there and I was still chilled to the core. Any person comparing a politician to Hitler should be forced to walk through the museum about 75 times straight so they can figure out what true evil really is.

pulled from my own blog, covering my Wife and I's trip around the US.

we jumped right on the Highway and headed south to D.C.. On the way there Adrianne asked if I wanted to see the Holocaust Museum. I had no idea such a place even existed, and how could I say no? I had no idea what was in store for us. We said we would try to limit the visit to 4 hours...

We could have spent double that in this place. It was 4 stories high, brand new (built in 1993), and as big as any Museum I have ever been in. It's also very, very, very thorough, and very well done. A lot of the things they covered I had already read up on, but some of the things were completely new to me. Some of the artifacts/exhibits they have there will just leave you speechless. They have a lot of pieces on loan from Poland, Auschwitz, and other various "historical" sites. Many times I was left teary eyed thnking about how my family was fortunate enough to get out of that area long before they started rounding us up. As a Jew, I felt especially fortunate to have spent a good amount of time in this Museum.

Not sure if this was tongue in cheek or not, but Hitler considered Christianity as, for lack of a better word, pathetic. As if the Final Solution wasn't enough of a window into his soul, he was big on eugenics (as were a number of Americans/Europeans/etc) at the turn of the century. His complete lack of compassion for his own people at the end of the war (they were weak, didn't deserve to win and had all that misery coming to them) speaks volumes towards his "survival of the fittest" mentality. Really, he considered Christianity a remnant of a bygone era because it spoke to helping out the weak amongst the population which was completely counter to his philosophy.

Not only this, but he eventually replaced all images of Jesus with his own in all of the churches in Germany. He was a master at projecting an image of kindness and "for the people" while behind closed doors being a complete monster.
