I've been challenged to an international friendly. From reading up, it appears traveling to the other team will cost my $5,000, but will also give me twice as much training benefit as a normal friendly. Is there any consensus on which way to go with this? As a side note, I can afford the 5K, though it could certainly be of use to upgrade parts of my team.

i think you only get twice as much experiance for players... not twice as much training.

Ah, that makes sense. Misread that. IN that case, I'll pass. :)

You end up getting twice as much experience than a normal friendly. This amounts to 1/5th of a regular league game. A regular friendly in your own country is 1/10th of a league game if I remember.

I travel all over the place, my goal is to travel to all countries in hattrick. I am at 19 now I think. But I suck. :)

The attendence is also increased, but probably not enought to offset the $5k cost. See if he'll agree to a home & home?

I just send out offers to the max foreign teams, to come play at my place. So far I have never gotten denied by everyone of them. So I get the added stuff, plus I dont have to spend any money to do it.

Unless my memory is failing, the travel cost is $6,000, not $5,000.

Yep, it has been 6k for me. And I have found that travelling to the right teams can be very lucrative. I once made over 8k for a friendly after paying the travel fees.

Listen to NevStar, he knows stuff when he's not talking formations ;)

If he'll agree to a home and home, you travel for one week, pay $6K but a lot of that is offset by the increased attendance both of you get and the double experience both weeks. Then again, if you don't have spare cash, then you don't have the money to do this.

As soon as I'm out of the cup (next week, I'm guessing), I'm going to hit the road and try to get home-and-homes for all of my future friendlies since I seem to be flirting with the black, financially. Double experience is good
