Pretty sure the answer to my question is ... "No", but gonna toss it out there in case I am missing something.

Is there any way to get the Run Directions to work with specific backs - or even with Formations ?

For example ... I have a 1-2 punch at RB. One is an inside pounder, one is a speedier cat. Obviously I'd like Joey Inside to run inside, etc.

Was thinking maybe if I put Inside guy as the back in some formations, and Speedier guy in others that I may be able to set things so that XX formation runs inside more often, etc.

** If there is no way to set that myself, is there anything that would help me with this type of combo that is natural ? (IE.. The engine naturally tends to run more inside out of XX formations).

Well, there is the "finesse run percentage", which is formation- (and therefore potentially player-) specific. That's not necessarily a directional thing, but it is something that would feature a speedy/elusive back over a power back. You would have to tie your RB2 to certain formations though, and you may not want to do that.

Not sure what the advantages of each formation are. i.e, formations that have the same personnel, I wouldn't know how you'd make a call for subbing a player in that case, other than the % of time you set to run that formation. The default settings seem to indicate the 3 WR / slot WR formations favor finesse runs, although some of these may be to the WR?
