Ok, so...while looking up some old horror movies I suddenly and vaguely remembered one or two scenes of a childhood favorite. I can't remember the name, or even much of the plot. Here's what I can remember...

A young boy is haunted by a monster in his dreams...it may (or may not) have the head of a snake, and the body of a man...or something to that effect. The boys father eventually figures out a way to combine their dreams into one so they can fight the monster collectively. In the end, they win...of course.

That's all I got. I'm guessing it came out around the same time as "House" and "Terror Vision" which means probably mid-late 80's. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Dreamscape was more of: trying to figure out how to kill someone in their dreams and that would kill them in real life. The plot was a rouge group trying to kill the president or something and Dennis Quaid saving the day.

Yeah but Dennis Quaid helped a kid suffering from dreams exactly like you describe.

Damn, I don't even remember that part. I just remember him hooking up with whats her name from Temple of Doom and fighting the guy from Commando that drove the Porche. :)

Kind of crazy -- I remember that scene from my childhood, too.

They have beens showing Dreamscape on one of the cable channels and I caught that scene. Effects do not hold up well and not quite as scary as I remembered it. :)

I similarly remember being terrified of the scene with the old vampire in the basement from Salem's Lot (another movie that's effects make it not hold up well).

I just remember him as the guy with the bottles in The Warriors. "Warriors.. come out to play"

Just one of many actors that I have no idea what his name is, but I just recognize them as 'the guy that played....'

YES!! Exactly, I can never remember his name either. Just like the guy that played Fletch's boss in both Fletch movies or the guy with the weird face that played one of the aliens in the Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai.
