I can buy the rest, but there is no way that the Redskins worked Russell out. I mean, come on, that is too far fetched.

Tinucci’s Restaurant and Catering provided a spread for the team. Moss, according to the owner Gus Tinucci in The Pioneer Press, looked at the food and said it wasn’t fit for his dog — “and he’s screaming it at the top of his lungs.”

Moss’s rant might have helped speed his exit from the team. According to Tinucci, Brett Favre wasn’t pleased by Moss’s display.

“If Favre would have had a ball, he would have beaned him right in the head. Favre looked at him like, ‘Are you kidding me?’” Tinucci told the Pioneer Press.

lol, what a piece of shit Moss is.

Sources: Percy Harvin confronted coach

By Ed Werder

MINNEAPOLIS -- A confrontation between Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress and receiver Percy Harvin grew so heated Friday afternoon that coaches and players were forced to separate them to prevent a physical exchange, according to team sources.

The confrontation, which was first reported by The (Minneapolis) Star Tribune as a heated argument between the two, occurred during a light Friday afternoon practice, Harvin's first of the week after suffering a sprained ankle last Sunday against the New England Patriots. Harvin was seen limping badly during the portion of practice open to reporters.

According to sources, Childress questioned Harvin's effort during the practice. When Harvin took exception, Childress suggested Harvin submit to further testing on the ankle. The debate escalated and "was as close to physical as you can get," according to the source.

After the two were separated, according to sources, a teammate told Harvin: "You just did what a lot of us have been wanting to say for years."

According to sources, Harvin had further testing on the ankle Saturday morning. He remains questionable for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Childress has needed to go since.... when he took the job over. I constantly berated Childress in the last two seasons and called him a Top 5 Worst coach in the NFL and nobody believed; glad his reign may finally come to an end..... Wilf can't continue to fire top notch players in favor of Childress. Childress is the problem; has been and always will be. If Wylf had the balls last week we'd still have Moss and be sitting just fine for a playoff push.

from pft:
The Washington Redskins are off this week, but there's no reprieve from the constant discussion about why Mike Shanahan benched Donovan McNabb late in last week's loss to the Lions.

The latest talk comes from a report on ESPN on Sunday morning in which Chris Mortensen said that Shanahan and his son and offensive coordinator, Kyle Shanahan, have had to cut their playbook in half in order to pare it down enough for McNabb to learn it.

And it gets worse: Mortensen reports that even when McNabb is operating with the Cliff's Notes version of the playbook, he sometimes has trouble correctly calling the plays in the huddle.

At this point, with all these stories coming out about McNabb being unable to figure out the offense, it's hard not to get the feeling that there are folks within the Redskins organization who are making a concerted effort to make McNabb look bad. That's exactly what ESPN's Tom Jackson, who played in Denver for three seasons when Shanahan was a Broncos assistant, said after Mortensen's report.

"If you have a problem with your quarterback," Jackson said, "you call [him] in and you discuss that. This has now become so public that the quarterback is going to be completely embarrassed and it makes his job harder."

In Jackson's view, Shanahan and McNabb simply won't be able to work together going forward -- and Jackson thinks that's more Shanahan's fault than McNabb's.

"I always thought the job of a coach is to adjust your system to the guy who's quarterbacking your team," Jackson said. "This situation is irreconcilable.

Agreed, but the penalty would have negated the turnover.

The hit...I don't know what you do about that. Defender stayed on his feet, didn't launch...just happened to make hth contact (on yeah, a WR who DID catch the ball). Results were horrible, but it seems a lot cleaner than what Harrison does or the Merriweather hit.

But I also told him that many loves the gladiator aspect of the sport - just have them beat each other up, they're replaceable.

There was nothing wrong with any of the hits. The problem is that one defender hit the receiver and knocked him into the other defender, then he slammed his head on the ground which compounded things.

Normally this is the case

However the Cowboys have a new stadium they need to sell out and the Vikings fans are close to a riot if Chilly isnt gone soon. The Vikings transition would actually be simple as they have a solid candidate on their staff already.

Disclaimer I still dislike Chilly and think he is terrible as a coach however just reading some of the comments after the game puts him in a no win situation. He kicks the FG against New England last week and people would have called him a pussy. Instead he went for it and didnt make it and hes an idiot. Today people are pissed that AP was ignored for much of the game after people bitching about how he is too conservative all week. Hes just in a situation right now where he can only be wrong.

Well, at least we get to see what Stephen McGee looks like the rest of the season right? Might as well see if he can out-Romo Romo (meaning coming from nowhere to being a viable QB option, not choking in every big game imaginable)

If there is a lockout next year do the Cowboys hold onto their high draft pick or is the NFL planning to do what the NHL did and give every team a shot at a lottery? That would just make this entire situation funnier if the impending lockout means they finish out the season with a lame duck head coach and they don't even get a decent draft pick out of it.

Brandon Jackson says they bit off, more than they could chew. Rodgers kept running, against this crappy D... the Cowboys kept letting him burn their crappy team. The Cowboys barely touched the freaking ball, as far as possessions, the Packers had them all.

Kitna, the veteran, sucks more than McGee. He loves to throw footballs, to the other team... This team is antique, so they say... they can't come off their stances, they can't find their way.

Even with amazing field position, they ruin the play. This is not their night, no this is not their day. It's Lambeau field, and the night is cold. This Dallas Cowboys Football team is growing old. Really, the best NFL coaches can do for a backup plan when the kicker gets hurt is a DT and WR? I am not saying that teams should waste a spot on a second kicker but come on. The punter should at least be able to put an extra point through and don't tell me that only one person can handle the placement of a FG attempt on a team. For all the planning teams do, this just seem like an area that could/should have a better backup plan.

Ndamukong Suh.

Hit the upright and missed, but goddamn if that isn't funny.

Okay, that is funny, but seriously? Nick Harris couldn't kick the extra point because they couldn't find someone else to catch the call and stick his finger on top of it? That job was too important, so might as well get someone else to kick it? That sounds completely insane to me.

The Cowboys were supposed to be a Super Bowl-contending team and right now they're one of the worst in the league. The Raiders have had decent defense the last few years I think and with an OK QB are winning a couple more games, but are not Super Bowl contenders. What's the bigger story?

Well considering how much bashing the Raiders have taken for the past 3-4 years Id almost say them being a decent team again is pretty amazing considering Al Davis is still alive.

The Cowboys being a Super Bowl contending team was on name value and experts predicting this. I watched them live get destoyed in the playoffs last year. Personally, I never thought they were a Super Bowl contender. I think the Cowboys are a bigger story because of their reputation more than anything. The 49ers were predicted to win their division yet we dont hear about them every week.

Wasn't the kicker roughed on the XP attempt? Once you've made the attempt, can you change your mind and go for 2?

Also, it was on a FG attempt. Stafford ran it in from the 1 on the next play.

Lots of hate in this forum. If its not Favre its the Cowboys, if its not the Cowboys it Moss, if its not Moss its the Pats, if its not the Pats its the Philly fans. I guess its much easier to kick someone when they are down.

For real...how did the Eagles fans not cheer a little louder when Collie was down? I am disappointed.

I love how everyone in the local media is singing the praises of a 'balanced offense' with the Bears today.

Uh, guys? Your RB's averaged 2.3 yards per carry. For 62 yards. Your QB had 40 yards rushing on his own. Against arguably the worst team in the league, certainly one of the worst rushing defenses in the league.

Quality running game this is not.

These stats are balanced against Jay Cutler mind you

But they scored from the 1!!

And it looks like they averaged 2.58 yards per carry.

Supposedly Suh was making 35 yard field goals in the preseason when the offense and defense would have "kicking contests"

I think the bigger question to that would be "Why would the coach of the Detroit Lions think his team is good enough to waste practice time on kicking contests"?

Listening to Pittsburgh radio station, saying Cowboys have called 5pm press conference. Not very shocking, but news nonetheless.

Yeah. Dallas media is reporting that Wade Phillips is out (http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2010/11/08/dallas-cowboys-coach-wade-phillips-fired/). If they could only fire their general manager, they might be on to something.

Yep, word is that Phillips is out and Jason Garrett has been handed the reins. That leaves a hole at both coordinator spots, since CWP was the defensive coordinator as well.

You really think that is a bigger question? I don't think these kicking contests are anything new.. I could swear the Packers do something like this too.

Interesting turn of events, I guess Jerry figured he had to do something.

I don't think they get a big name coach in there unless JJ is willing to hand over control. An ego like Gruden can't occupy the same space as JJ.

It is when it is the Lions. They can barely get out of their own way most of the time, so for them to waste time on offense/defense kicking contests is rather ridiculous. Kinda like Wade Phillips writing a how-to book about coaching in the NFL.

I'm sure it didn't take away from actual time spent on other areas of practice. It's just something extra.

The Lions have done alot over the years that is questionable, but something that is probably done for fun at the tail end of practice? Whole lotta meh.. They were probably doing it for an extra hour of curfew or some other nonsense.

If you were a Lions fan this would have been worded quite differently, and involved several crappy draft picks, an incompetent GM, and questionable coaching decisions. ;)

I get a kick out of all you Dallas haters. You guys are the funny. Makes going through these losses kind of worth it.

Look at my screen name... what else am I supposed to be?

Plus when you add in the annoying bandwagon fans that team has it just makes it that much better to watch them flounder (and watch the bandwagon fans hide their Cowboys stuff).

Lousy call by the refs on that one....

Even worse call by whoever makes the call to show replays at the stadium; showing replays of that play while he was still on the ground. Replaying a controversial call at that time is not the way to go, IMHO. You've got a crowd that is upset by the bad call and then getting them more upset while the guy is on the ground is not really a good idea at that point.

Now the "Manning call" late in the game; while called correctly by the "letter of the law" it was still a pretty weak call (but I can't complain about the call as much as want the rules to change a little).

I think it would be awesome if the Cowboys lose next week, then win out to finish at 8-8 and get the 16th pick in the draft.

You almost fooled me with that one and got me to +1 it. Maybe they can win next week and then lose two other games this season to finish 7-9 and still not get a top 10 pick.
