How to use resource patcher?

Hi.

I am new to the game and for the life of me I cannot find any info on how to use this resource patcher to add custom graphics. I downloaded the Utility Suite and when I try to run any of those files (in XP) they all crash.

Are there instruction on any of these, how to run them, where to put them, what they do? The Utility Suite thread was light on any info in terms of how to use these things.

Any help would be appreciated.
