I've heard that Kevin Garnett makes rookies take showers with him and forces them to wash his back with a bright pink loofah.

As an aside - I love NBA2k11. I played with my brother yesterday - I was 1986 Celtics and he was this year's Miami Heat...I smoked him. Larry Bird poured in like 50pts.
It's fucking awesome.

Honestly though - what a douchey thread. Are we going to have one of these ripping on every city now?
Or is it just that you're all jealous and this is how you're expressing your jealousy, by singling out Boston?

I tend to agree at least partially with DT, it seems to me like this thread was designed to troll Boston/New England fans into reacting. Guess it worked, but... still... kinda weak sauce.

Calm down. DT was getting a little overly sensitive and defensive in the NBA thread. Even as a Celtics fan myself, I recognized that. That's what prompted this thread.

In what sense?
And FWIW - that sounds like the textbook definition of a trolling thread.

You can turn this into a Detroit thread. I can take it. :)

I've heard that Tom Brady is actually a closet homosexual that keeps pictures of George Michael in his locker because he thinks Michael is "dreamy."

Your reaction to a post about Doc's minutes usage was the one that I believe finally prompted it. But really, eventhough I agree with you most of the time, your homerism in that thread (and in the past in other threads) has been a bit over the top. You'd have been better off just laughing this thread off. Reacting so defensively just reinforces the whole point of it.

That's just cruel because it'd be like kicking a sick, injured puppy.
Or wait, that would be the Eagles thread, wouldn't it?

IIRC wasn't the post about the minutes thing pretty trollish in the first place??
And there was no homerism in my response IIRC - I just pointed out that wasn't the reasoning behind it at all (or at least that's all I recall doing).
And who's reacting defensively? I laughed along with it initially, and only just pointed out that it was pretty douchey and trollish (which it is).
If being a homer is enough to get douchey threads created about your city then we should have threads about every sports city in the damn country because we're all homers. Where's the UTEP thread? Or the GA HS football thread? Or the LA thread?
I call bullshit.

I've heard Bill Russell is one of only two players in NBA history to average over 20 rebounds a game for his career.

I've heard Bobby Orr is the only defenseman to lead the NHL in scoring, a feat he accomplished twice.

This thread was on the road to delivery, until a big rig hit it head on and became a smoking, steaming pile of monkey shit.
I heard that Carl Yastrzemski and Carlton Fisk have a secret love child living in Bolivia named "Paolo."
