View Full Version : Cancer took my dog today...

When I got my dog as a pup, I wanted her to be strong, so I named her Ripley after the lady from the "Aliens" movies. Seven months ago she was diagnosed with cancer after I discovered some lumps under her front legs. We hooked her up with some chemo and she fought it hard, but eventually it came back with a vengeance and she couldn't get rid of it. When I discovered that she couldn't stand on her own today, I knew it was time. She died in my arms as I told her over and over again how proud I was of her.

She was so strong, so brave, our protector and a great, great friend...I'll miss her forever.

Beautiful post Dutch. I"m sure she appreciates your love. I had the same thing happen to me with my cat awhile back. At least she had a good life with you. Very sorry to hear this.

On Monday we had to put my GFs cat Isabella to sleep, she also had cancer. its sooo hard, since they cant tell you if they are in pain, or how bad the suffering is. she was such a nice cat :(

Went through that also, I know what you mean. Very sorry for your loss, I know too well how hard it is.
