My wife and I have been hammered with deaths the last three years. It seems lately I am thinking about it every day. My wife tells me it's not healthy to think about it the way I do. I'm not really sure what "normal" is so I have no way to compare.

Death is all around us. Family, friends, work: Most every day some one dies that I know about at least by being a relative of a co-worker or whom someone I know was at the death scene -- a function of working for county government and working with public safety people.

You don't get used to it, but it makes talking about death an ordinary, but serious, event.

I voted hardly ever, but it's probably more in-between monthly and a couple times a year. I am fairly young (26 next month) so I don't deal with it too much, at least in terms of people I know. My wife is always talking about it and I tell her much the same as rowech's wife - just seems unproductive to constantly wonder "what if" and not just live your life as much as you can.

When I was in my teens I used to think about it alot and actually I guess I'd say I was afraid of it. Now I don't really think about it, and when I do I'm not really afraid of it. There's isn't anything so scary about nothingness to me anymore, I guess.

Probably hasn't been a day in over 30 years that I haven't contemplated it in some fashion. Whether my own or someone else's.

And that doesn't count potential homicides (which I'm pretty sure aren't ones you were asking about).

When I was younger I was a major hypochondriac. Constantly checking moles, looking for lumps or bumps and crap. As I got older and quite frankly not exactly very healthy I sort of came to grips with it and started thinking of it in a much more cosmic way.

I'll also add here that since the death of my grandparents that the thoughts about death in some way are more frequent/pronounced. I'd guarantee that my wife would say the same thing since her dad passed away, starting even before that with the beginning of his serious health issues.

Everything anyone believes in is a religion. Just not a God based one. None of us will be right or wrong until we find out for sure.

It's not often someone answers their own question, glad I could help

Not sure that answer stops one from thinking about death.

Every GOTdamn day. I'll be 40 in October, and it looks like the odds are an even 50/50 whether I'll be the only member of my immediate family still alive.

Once a month or so and not much how it will effect me (I mean.. I'm dead), but more worried on how it will effect my daughter and wife. I worry about my daughter being alone which scares me far worse than death.

I do but not when, how. Specifically, how I don't wanna die. Drowning or by fire would be the worst.

I find I don't think about my death all that much except as it relates to my family. I probably worry about my kids and wife dying more than myself, and when I think about myself it's related to what would happen to them.

I have had issues in the past thinking about it all the time. I think I may have even started a thread about it.

The worst time was when I lay down to go to sleep. I would always think about dying different ways. Some times it would even be pretty gruesome.

I tried to avoid this by thinking about better things like having sex with my wife instead. It seems to work most of the time.

Daily.

It's not so much about being afraid of death. If there's something on the other side, great. If not I'll never know.

I worry more about my wife and kids (17, 14 and 4) surviving without me.

I think about Pumpy dying all the time.
Funny, my neighbor told me that he thinks about me dying every Friday around 6pm. That's strange enough, but then I realize that I can hear noisemakers, hip-hop music, and giggling college girls at his house at exactly that time every Friday. So I'm not sure where I fit into all this, but it started soon after I peed my pants in his car that one time.

I also peed his pants at the same time.

Edit to add: It was an accident.

Edit to add #2: It was an accident if you believe the police report, anyway.

Every single day and it drives me insane. It's gotten even more pronounced with my parents' ages and health issues.

Where is the option, "I talk about it more often than 2Pac?"

Really? You never think about dying? Not even, specifically, on Thursday morning, right after you finish with that one thing?

I mean, that's cool if you don't. It just seems odd. I mean... it just seems like it would occur to you that...

You know what, forget I brought it up.

You seem to limit religion to purely the afterlife. A "right" religion/belief for someone is one that becomes fulfilling now and often takes away the sting of death.

He also thinks that anything you believe in is a religion. I don't think you're going to get through to him.

This is getting stalker-ish. I may mean Maple Leafs' comment to me, but I probably don't.

I'm a pretty good actor. If I act stalkerish will that help, nevermind I never could get you to believe I was crazy. Well, not to the point were you didn't know that I knew I was crazy.

It is seemingly the one thing I can't beat.
And there isnt enough time to do it all.

Way more often that I used to. Still randomly have to stop and cry for 10 to 15 minutes almost every day. It sucks.
