iTunes Question

I was kind of late to the iTunes party, but finally got into it a couple of years ago and have built up a pretty sizable collection (between converting CDs and buying downloadable songs).

I got a new laptop a few weeks ago and was wondering what is the best/easiest way to transfer the songs over to my old computer (before it dies)? Anyone have any good tips?

Copy the music to an external hard drive and then copy it to the new computer. Put it in the same folder structure.

Then copy everything in the Itunes folder in my music to the new computer in the same place. Hold down the SHIFT key and double click to open iTunes. It will ask you what library to open, just open the one in the mymusic folder.
