Are there any other games that can be played on both types of phones besides Words With Friends? I'd really like to find a chess or checkers game but haven't been able to find any.

Does it have to play on both types of phones or could you get different aps for each?

On my iPhone I have the chess.com ap which gives you a fairly strong computer player (I struggle to beat level 5/10) and a daily three tactical problems you can do, both are available if you set up a free account with them (you can also do correspondence chess with real people if desired). I've also played the free iChess ap, which is a slightly easier computer (level 5/5 is reasonably tough, below that I don't really have problems) and doesn't require you to set up an account. I don't know if these are available for the Android.

Hope that helps and that all is going well for you killer.

I know there's Chess With Friends, not sure if it's cross platform though.

I'm looking for a multiplayer game that is cross platform, doesn't seem to be many options out yet. A friend (iphone) and I (droid) have been playing words with friends, but looking for another game or two to play against each other.

I believe the Chess.com one can be cross platform, by playing online. Not sure if you like cribbage, but this one, Cribbage (http://www.cribbagepro.net/), is really good and is cross-platform.
