Prayer Request

I was kind of hemming and hawing about posting something, but I guess every little bit helps.

I am flying home tomorrow on the red eye because my Dad is having heart surgery on Tuesday. He is having mitrol valve surgery, either repair of replace. They won't be sure until they get in there and see just how bad the damage is.

He is having the surgery done at Mt Sinai in New York, which is a great hospital. The surgery has a 99+ percent success rate so I'm not overly worried. The thing that freaks me out is my Dad is 80, and while in tremendous health for a man his age, 80 is no joke.

As far as I can remember he has never been in the hospital, and certainly nothing of this magnatude. I guess it just kind of hit me today that I am leaving tomorrow for it.

Anyway, just wanted to get my thoughts down and ask for prayers. Every little bit helps. Thanks folks.

On it! My dad had heart surgery in January and I"ve been freaking out ever since. HE has a pacemaker now and is okay. Your dad has my thoughts and prayers to get through this.

Thanks for the kind thoughts everyone. Spent the weekend hanging out at my parents place. Had a nice dinner with my whole family last night, minus my wife and son who stayed behind in Seattle. Dad is in good spirits, dropped a few "if I don't come home...." lines, but overall putting on a good face.

Heading up to NY is a few hours where we will stay overnight and then bring him in the morning.
