Anyone have any tips/ideas/recipes for grilling fish on a wooden plank? I've never tried, but I'm going to give it a go tomorrow. Probably either walleye, trout, or salmon.

The best advice is to keep something handy to handle the flareups you might get from the plank. Preheat the grill, then pre heat the plank before you put the fish on. You can cook on indirect but it's going to take longer. Are you going gas or charcoal?

Soak the plank for a good 20 minutes before using and coat it with olive oil so the fish won't stick.
I did salmon on a plank recently and used salt/pepper, a little teryaki, and lemon. Delicious.

I agree with JPhil. Soak it and use something to keep it from sticking.
Dill is a nice flavor for Salmon (and other fish).

Slice up some lemons real thin and place them on top of the fish while cooking. Nice effect and lemons always taste great when cooked.
