Tiger Woods/Golf Game Question

Does anyone have a lot of experience with different versions of the game? I have 09 but I'm getting annoyed that my skill goes down even though my player performs well. For example, certain courses, like Wolf Creek, force a player to hit shorter shots to set himself up and that hurts your power rating through no fault of your own. Are later versions of the game better? How different is this year's Masters version?

I have '12 and there's no skill degradation. The caddy implementation is a bit weird, but I have found the game enjoyable. Be warned that playing a full 4 round tournament can be iffy because of extremely difficult pin placements in rounds 3 and 4 on some courses, but if you set your seasons for one or two round tournaments, that problem really isn't too much of an issue.
