View Full Version : Do you ever receive offers for a draft pick?

I was going to post a thread about trading in general, but it seems there are a few older threads containing that kind of stuff. It is a bit disappointing that I have several reasonable players (above 35 rating) who have small salaries, and yet teams won't even trade a 7th rounder in 3 years time for them...

But anyway, my main question is, does the computer ever offer you a trade during the draft for one of your picks? (I play a single player game btw).

I see the computer teams trade with each other, and sometimes I want to trade back, and set up negotiating trades, but it would be much easier if there was a way of seeing which teams are interested in trading up, or if you actually received a notification saying "Trade Offer". I have only been through two drafts, so haven't had a great deal of exposure, just wondering if this does actually happen or not.

Thanks

The AI is a total ass when it comes to trades in SP. They are helplessly stupid in bidding wars and signing players and most everything else, but that 65/65 4th-year safety you have? Lucky if you manage to send him off for a 4th. Any veteran with greater than zero salary? No deal is possible. They're unwilling to take on all that money.

That's actually how the real life NFL works.

I don't know. Seems like a lot of trades in the NFL, would not happen in FOF.

For example, the Patriots traded for guard/tackle Quinn Ojinaka from the Falcons for something like a 7th. In FOF, the Patriots wouldn't take on his salary. There aren't enough trades in SP FOF, but it isn't just the AI's fault - there tend to be too few players on your roster that are even tradeable at all.

I can see why though, I guess. We'd all screw the hell out of any AI if we could trade more players.

We'd all screw the hell out of any AI if we could trade more players.This. We're already coming up with draconian house rules just to make SP semi-challenging, so this just isn't a hot-button issue for many people.
