Hi,
How are you doing, i hope everything is fine? I want to notify you that my assistant did sent out your payment and it was sent to the contact address you gave me,But there's a little issue i must bring to your notice.Immediately the payment was issued out,my account went under reconciliation and i discovered that my assistant did over paid you.The payment sent to your was meant for a different transaction but it has your name on it but the amount was not your required amount.
However i want to believe that i won't have any problem with you and i believed i can trust you with the rest of the money.Like i said in my former conversation i am presently on business trip so please once you receive the payment kindly take it to your bank and have it cashed then deduct your required amount with the amount i offered you and send the remaining difference to the shipping company representative via Western Union, Immediately you send the difference to them they will come with their truck to pick up the item from you.I will provide you with the shipping company representative's information and the means which you will use to send them the remaining balance via Western Union.
I am really sorry this fault is from my assistant so kindly help me out by sending the remaining of the money to the shipping company representative so that the shipment can be completed.I will be waiting to hear back from you soon.Provide me with the physical address once again where the package will be picked up so that i can be assured.
Have a wonderful day.

What a pain in the ass.
I just tried to sell a macbook on craiglist. Got about 100 emails. No sale yet, and I've spent way too much time communicating with idiots.

Hello,
Your tv stand sounds perfect for my professionally decorated living room. I don't have any money right now but I have lots of finger paintings done by Picasso in his earlier years if you would like to trade.

this thread has lived up to it's potential
I had a co-worker ask me about an offer he got on his TV that sounded very similar to MGB's story.

That's a good one. I have a car up for sale right now, and I'm 3 for 3 on flakes.

I've sold, probably, without over-exaggeration, $10k worth of stuff on CL in the past five years, including a car.

Yeah, I've never had a problem with scammers, and I've sold quite a bit of stuff (also including a car).

The big scam I get offered over and over again is the guy who wants to pay you less than the product is selling for and have you ship it to Africa and Asia, and he needs you to send it within 24 hours of the paypal payment. I guess they can cancel the payment somehow (maybe by claiming they paid too much) and then keep the shipment.

I've seen a similar scam. I believe what they do is send you a bogus email that really looks legit with pay pal headers and everything that says you have money in your pay pal account(what ever they sent you). Of course if you check your PP account this is not the case but he is betting you are too stupid to actually check your account and/or realize what he did.

Don't sell yourself short, mohammed. You're not a bad american. Every good american I know has a big interest in stands for television watching. That's the kind of good happiness we can all get behind.

I had basically the same message before. Not signed by Obama. I was selling the item for $100. They sent me a check for $400, told me I had to wire 200 back to him, and I could keep an extra 100 for my troubles.
