Probably not, But I am a little curious as Jim did work with EA in the past. And we have not seen a FOF game in years now.

It looks like EA Sports has 3 brand new franchises coming. According to GameInformer, a new football game, fundamentally different than Madden and NCAA, will be one of them.

From Solecismic.com
I'm never certain what is next, and I'm hopeful a publisher takes interest in these games, so I have the opportunity to bring them to the console world now that consoles have the memory necessary to run a simulation this size.

I'm still waiting for FOF to come out in a Game Boy version.

I bet Jim makes a cartridge based FOF game for Genesis.. Now that would be great.. I still use my Sega Nomad..

Based on the dynamics of the game, FOF for the Wii would be an unmitigated disaster.

I would love to see something along the lines of iOOTP. For a console? Not so much.

Jenna Fischer coming to my bedroom? It's a grand idea to be sure.

Maybe instead of playing on a computer you could sit in a chair and type your turns on a virtual wii keyboard? :)

I agree to this 1000 times. Makes me drool thinking about it. This just had me curious as Jim has said he would love to bring the game to consoles. Now With EA making another football game, it foes make me wonder just a bit. I don't expect this to happen, but my curiosity is there.

I believe the window of opportunity for FOF on consoles closed about 8-10 years ago. I do think it could work well on the iPad or iPhone though, so I'll +1 those wishes.

I don't know. If it was Head Coach on steroids, that'd be amazing.

I just have no interest in playing as detailed a game as I expect FOF to be while sitting on my bed staring at my TV using a game controller. Sounds like a pretty crappy experience to me.

Yeah, this. On a tablet PC it's a different story, and I would expect to see textsims target those devices, but console just doesn't make sense to me. If I'm at home and want to play a textsim, I'll be sitting on my computer.

Indie games are talked about a lot these days, but you really don't hear much about indie sports titles. Licensing costs are probably the biggest reason why developers don't really go down that road, but it doesn't mean the creativity you see in the indie space can't also carry over to sports games.

As a company, EA has focused on broadening its portfolio, and Andre Wilson, senior VP of worldwide development at EA, would not rule out publishing an indie sports game if it met certain expectations, according to an interview he had with Now Gamer.

"I think with iOS, Android, Facebook and tablets we're now in a place that's probably unique, where for the first time in 16 years four guys in a garage can build a great new IP related to sports that could definitely co-exist within the EA Sports brand. In all honesty, we encourage it and we'd love to hear it," said Wilson.

There is a ton of space out there for new types of sports games. In fact, it really does seem almost criminal that sports are such a major part of society, yet they really don't flood the gaming marketplace in a way that correlates to the amount of time spent watching, reading and talking about real-life sports.

I know. Why would Jim sign with EA to release an iPhone or android game. Ootp did it with basically one programmer, as did FM.

I know that I am reaching here, but come on, no new game since 2006. I have spent so many hours playing FOF. And I am getting hungry for something new. If he release an iOS game I would be in heaven. Not only that but it seems, FM and OOTP have done very well.

Either way, please give us something new!

In all seriousness, a game like Football Mogul at that level of complexity seems like it ought to port over to iOS awfully easy and be a pretty nice $2.99 app.

Yup, would not be surprised to see a football management sim in the App store over the next few months.

Speaking of, has anyone tried tXtFL on Android? It looks like an NFL text sim, and it's free...I just downloaded it since I didn't have to pay, just wondering if it's worth putting any time into...
