At least I enjoy playing tennis, but I won't play golf even if it would help me get ahead in business. At least I can understand people who enjoy playing it, but as a spectator sport? Seriously? And people rip on NASCAR?

That's me.
I find that there are two sets of people - golfers and tennis players. I'm squarely on the tennis side.

Yeah, I can't sit through "highlights" of golf, let alone the rest of it. I know it takes a lot of skill but it just doesn't interest me at all.
Playing-wise, its not too bad. But I am never inclined to go play it myself. Others have to ask me to join them for a game (which hasn't happened in at least 5 years). So yeah, I'm not into golf either I guess.

This thread appeared to have been opened specifically for me - so it'd have been rude not to pop in and say "Hi" ;)

I don't like games that require huge investments to be competitive. I won't spend enough money on clubs and balls to be good, so I don't want to go through the aggravation of being bad.

I never understood how people could enjoy watching golf until I found myself watching poker on tv... then it clicked.
I still hate golf though.

My dad would take me golfing with him when I was in my early teens. It was fun at first. Then came the "instruction" and all of the do this, do that, why did you do that, etc...and it promptly sucked every drop of enjoyment out of golf. Even all of these years later I don't think I would ever be able to play golf and enjoy it again.
