You have the ability to hand pick the next U.S. President. Only a few rules.

1. They must be alive.
2. They must be eligible to be President (U.S. citizen, old enough, no more than 1 term already served, so no Clinton or Bush II).
3. It can't be you.

Who do you pick?

I'm so used to settling for the best worst option that I don't know my ideal candidate. I might bring Bill Clinton back, but there's probably somebody better out there.

Me - but not as President, as king of the world; I'll get this sh** straightened out; just please look the other way when requested to...

I don't want a King of the World who can't read ;)

I second him - he plays a great God .... thats got to be a decent precedent for the role ;)

David Straithairn. He looks the part and he would be able to memorize his speeches well enough to deliver them like he actually means them.

Once she's old enough, Summer Glau.

If the President is destined to be an incompetent twit, I at least want the illusion of competence or eye candy.

If we're being serious, then Ron Paul. I want the polar opposite of the last 20 years of the bought and paid for corporate parties just to try and balance things back out to a reasonable approach.
You must be watching Alphas...? :)

Since it's obviously not going to be that kind of thread, I'll go with Mark Cuban.

I think the job requires a larger-than-life presence. That's what it takes to get people to listen these days. So I change my vote to Lily Allen's left ankle.

He's posted twice in this thread, and nobody's nominated Pumpy yet? Plus, isn't Pumpy Day right around Inauguration Day anyway? Makes too much sense for it not to happen.

It actually was intended to be serious. Just curious who out there actually excites people in a Presidential manner.

Marco Rubio (he will be one day anyway)

Probably a solid choice. I have been watching him casually the past 6 years or so. He fills a void that Henry Cisneros left that was never filled. As we see the rise of the Hispanic majority over the next decade and more; someone like a Rubio or perhaps himself will be seen as a candidate that cross pollinates.

(I know he has a Cuban background, but the Hispanic groups I know really are massively excited by him.)
