Dating Dynasty

Do you guys feel it is appropriate to do this, or do you think it is going to far to post their "stats" in my dynasty and talk about my relationships?

Though if you know me you could probably guess, I have to agree with the fellow's advice that prompted this poll. I read the first few posts of the advice thread. I was saddened by it, but not because of some "moral crusade" or moaning of the fall of puritan values, blah, blah.

I've given presentations to high schoolers on attitudes about sex and women. When I was in high school, I had similar attitudes and wrestled with similar mixed messages from my parents, the media, my friends, and the girls themselves.

In the end, I went with what "felt" right. I kept a statistical count of how many times I had sex when I was in high school. I lost count after I hit 200, in my senior year alone.

Now, as a husband and father, I realize how distorting and damaging those attitudes have been to my long term sexual health. My wife, as with many of the women I know, was even more messed up by her experiences.

My experience is that sex is the most powerful weapon, the most delicate flower, the most precious jewel, and the most insidious corrosive known to mankind. When I was 16, I just wasn't ready to handle it. Are you sure you're handling it well?

Well, speaking as someone who didn't get laid until college, and had nary a sniff of poontang in high school, I hate you. :D

Actually your point and their responses have little in common. you're saying that in your experiences, it left you with a skewed or even "damaged" sense of sexuality and relationships. That your attitude was all wrong at the time, or at least this is what I get from your post.

They're simply applauding the fact that you got laid before they did. They may well have handled their sexual situations quite well in their own way.

You are correct that its not about getting the physical relationships, its entirely about HOW you handle the emotional and social changes that they bring about.

Unfortunately, no matter how many speeches people give, or advice that is laid down for you, it all comes down to each and every one of us as individuals learning to cope and deal with our own feelings and emotions related to our sexual escapades.

Attitudes can't be learned about such things, they must be experienced and developed. You can't teach a horse to shit. it just figures it out as it grows.

Im still here...just waitig for something good to get involved in...still in x-com, but im more active over at hattrick right now. "Young" Blade6119 is still here...im just noticing a lack of quality threads to argue in nowadays;)
