Well I just got a bid of $89k for my backup innermidfielder, and since that will put me out of debt I was looking at getting a clown for my team....Since searching everytrasfer market to try to find a great deal on one is very hard to do, and also very time consumming...I was wondering what fair market value was for a clown? I Have seen them listed in the hattrick transfer market conference for around $65k, is this about market value? And do they help the team enough that it is worth it to pay that much for one?

A Clown? Fill me in, what are you talking about?

Clowns are players who have solid leadership, and are popular players...They supposedly raise the team spirit, if you have an anti-clown, someone who is nasty and solid leadership then he will bring down the team spirit.

Clowns also help you maintain a good TS longer. And yes 65-70k seems to be about the going rate, more if they actually have skills.

Semi-clowns (solid leader, sympathetic) are much cheaper -- ~4-5k
Is sympathetic better than pleasant?

Yes - 1 step above

And also much less effective.
I got a popular with passable leadership (my best and only passable leader) for $2K. He is a wing back trainee too.

Ok, TP, since you're pretty knowledgeable and all (I don't think you can luck into D2) or anyone else- is there a way to tell which "solid" leadership guy on your team is your team leader if you have two?

Your TS might give you a hint.

That's what I would think but my solid coach is a bitter, spiteful man (controversial) so I can't really tell. My TS has been calm the entire season.
I have a solid/pleasant trainee and a solid/sympathetic guy I'm using for a clown but if I'm going to put down the big bucks for a genuine clown, I need to know that he's going to be the clown and not the solid/pleasant guy.

I think if you have more than one solid guy they will rotate weeks....I just got my true clown...and since I got him I put my semi-clown on the transfer market just to make sure my true clown is the only solid leadership on my team.

They won't rotate. One has a higher solid and they will be the team leader.

You can't tell for sure who is your team leader... I've had a solid/nasty since March 2002. I have no idea if he or my solid/pleasent (who came with my team) is my team leader. I doubt it makes that much difference though. Clowns are overrated IMO.

You know what always gets me? Magicians, especially those with black hats and beards. I think it has something to do with "Pete's Dragon".
