Anyone here attend the CES? I'll be attending for the first time. Got a great deal on a flight, so I booked today. I'll be staying at the same place my wife and I stayed when we went to Vegas in June. Although a bit far away from the convention center, it's so damn cheap (about $200 for the week, instead of $200/night) that I couldn't pass it up.

Anyway, you guys can use this thread for updates during the show in January, but if anyone's going to be there, let me know.

Never been to a big tech event like this, but I guess it would be pretty cool, if chaotic.

Yeah, I don't know what to expect, other than to be completely overwhelmed. One of my niche specialties is regulatory compliance and program development for extended warranties. So, anyone who's anyone in consumer electronics and the warranty business will be at CES. I figure it's worth checking out.

It's a total Electronics Nerd fest. You will see conceptual stuff, stuff just fresh to market and a lot of innovative things going on.

I witnessed Microsoft Surface at my first CES and it sent me back to the book Enders Game with the stuff they were doing with the demo. It prompted me to write an Article for an industry pub I was involved with just covering Surface and how it was being used in business application.

Honestly, it was probably one of the top trade shows I have ever been to...

I didn't see this thread earlier. I leave for CES tomorrow and will be there through Friday, although I don't know how much time I'll get to spend at the actual show. We have a conference room at the Hard Rock for meetings with clients for most of the time.

I'm curious who you work for Ksyrup so most of our clients are warranty based.

I've been stuck in the room working my IT to get my computer connected to the server and doing some work, so I haven't even gotten out to the show yet. But I'm here until Friday night, so I've got time.

CES seems really subdued this year...nothing seems truly amazing, like in years past.
