View Full Version : How to use a great FB

I have this great fullback in an MP league

I'm trying to figure out how to best game plan to get this guy the ball and how to get him best involved in my offense. If there are any ideas then please let me know.

But, in your experience, it's good to make the change even if the player is short (5'11'')?

And you'd lose the maxed blitz pickup bar too wouldn't you? Plus his experience is still light blue for TE even though he's in his 8th year.

I've never had any great success with FBs in terms of rushing, even with very good ones, but they can be very dangerous in the short passing game.

Maybe try plenty of screens and 0-4yd passes keep your RB and TE in to block more if they're not particularly productive in the passing game and allow your FB to get out into pattern more. obviously use more FB formations and fewer single back formations to keep him on the field more.

Use lots of I / Pro / Strong / Weak formation where he's on the field, turn his "block on passing plays" low, get a decent RB to run behind him (just good hole recognition would be enough, does not have to be a stud), and throw more short passes when you throw.

Here is the best FB i have ever had.

I try to run him in situations he will succeed and i have another FB on the roster that i can use as FB when that is necessary.

I also use alot of the pro/weak/strong forms but we are more of a passing team with good wrs but you can see his numbers are pretty good overall.

Clearly you should trade him to Oakland. :)

So you're slotting him as the RB in some formations?
