Seeing as how there have been no Pro Football Simulator dynasties on here, I figure I would take the plunge and attempt to start one. This is my first attempt to really delve into PFS, but since the latest update, this game is generating some really good stats and game play. Wish me luck.

The league will be starting during the 1950 Pre Season. Though I realize that there were only 12 teams in the league then, I am going to expand things with a 32 team, 16 game league with Sudden Death Overtime (no ties). Each team will have a 53 man roster with 4 players on the practice squad. There will be a mixture of "real" NFL players from that period and fictional players. I am hoping within 10 years or so, that all players will be actual NFL players from the respective years (hopefully). There will be no house rules as of now. As I go along, I may have to implement some.

Here are our Offensive Players for the 1950 Jacksonville Jaguars. Please note that I am showing the Overall Rating. There are a bunch of others (Speed, Intelligence, Arm Strength, etc.) but wont be showing these for the sake of brevity. If there are any requests, I can show these for selected players. One thing I forgot to add is the Salary Cap will be $115 million.

QB:

I promise I did not arrange for the best QB during the 1950 season on my team. Truth be told, I also had Norm Van Brocklin as well (OVR 92), But I did the right thing and got rid of him. If Tittle gets hurt, we are screwed, so I will try to ensure his survival with a lot of shotgun formations and quick passes.

RB/FB:

Ferrer gets the starts, but Hill is so close in ability level, I think I will do a RB by committee this year. Will be looking to upgrade this position next year though. FB Perez gets the nod as well.

WR/TE:

Starters will Be Jacobson and Lovell for the WR and Ortega for the TE. Very solid receiving corps. Will be running lots of Spread formations and 2 TE sets. This crew and Tittle should be quite prolific. They will need to be considering how terrible my defense will be. More to follow on that though.

C/G/T:

Starters are in Yellow. Pretty Strong up the middle, but my bookends are quite weak. Will be upgrading my tackles. Will run behind my Guards.

All in all, I like the balance of my offense. We will definitely have to win with a prolific passing game. I am thinking Tittle will do quite well.

And the 1950 Jacksonville Jaguars Defensive roster. Will be forced to run a base 4-3 defense. Wont do much blitzing. Lots of Cover 2. Some pretty ugly stuff here:

DE/DT:

Some good players on the edges. But the DT's are an abomination. We are going to give up a ton of rushing yards. You will see why next.

LB:

Ugh. Utter devastation. Upgrading this pile of trash will be my main priority in the draft. Going to be an interesting time seeing how we can compete with these clowns.

CB/SS/FS:

Decent starters at the Safety position. CB's are trash. Another position needing upgrade.

P/K:

Nothing special here. Will be looking for upgrades.

So there are your 1950 Jacksonville Jaguars. Should be interesting to see how things go.

Training camp results:

Not sure what the numbers mean, but I suspect that Hooker, for instance, Saw a 44 point increased in all of his attributes. One of the cool things in this game is over a career, you can see how a player's ratings progress over a career in a graph. So Hooker's graph from before training camp until now looks like this:

No one on the Jaguars had a reduction in skills, but this is normally not the case. I have seen cases of 70+ point drop during training camp. Usually due to aging, from what I can see.

Playing mostly my backup players, The Jags start the preseason on a high not with a win. QB Y.A. Tittle did not play, so 2nd-string QB Genaro Denny had a pretty efficient day going 16/26 140yds 1TD 0INT. Our defense was pretty opportunistic with 3 turnovers (2INT’s and 1 FUM), with Backup FS Jaime Harrington, returning one of the INT’s for a 46yd TD. Other things of note, 3rd DE Keith Free was a one-man wrecking crew with 7 tackles, 2 forced fumbles and a sack. Backup LB Theo Pettit had 12 tackles and 1 TFL. On the negative side, our defense gave up far too many yards on the ground (Titans has 32 rushes for 185 yards) and our team was penalized 7 times for 40 yards.

Injuries – Luckily, there were no injuries.

With my starters playing most of the game, we are defeated. Pretty disheartening especially since the Vikings played their backups. QB Y.A. Tittle played nicely, but did have an interception that went for a 28yd TD return. On the positive end, I like that we averaged over 8 yards per carry on the ground. Also, RT Winston Berman played a dominant game with 5 pancake blocks. A lot more things went bad in this game. Too many penalties, 2 missed extra points and too many yards given up on the ground sunk us this week. Next week will be pivotal to show improvement because our starters will play the entire game. Hope we will see some improvement.

Injuries - 2nd string TE Robbie Hodgson is Out 12-16 weeks with a torn Hamstring. This hurts, because this will limit our potentially potent 2 TE attack. Not going to IR him, but we do sign TE Walter Cisneros (OVR 39) to a free agent contract.

I am suprised we were able to eek this one out. We have 3 more turnovers, yet was able to pull this out. QB Y.A. Tittle had an up and down game (24/36 240yds 2TD 2INT) in the air, but helped himself while scrambling (7att/49yds). I really like our rushing attack. Having 2 good backs (Robert Ferrer 6car/33yds and Michael Hill (9car/75yds/1TD) and a good scrambling QB should be able to help open up our passing game during the season. Some more positives are My top 3 WR's (Bernard Jacobson 8cat/57yds, Terry Lovell 7cat/77yds and Rayford Thomson 5cat/72yds/1TD) did some really good things and I am really curious to see how they do this year. Would love to see the three of them combine for 2,500+ yards receiving.

On the negative side, it looks like we will have a turnover problem all season long. I hate HB's that fumble and HB Michael Hill has had 3 of them during the preseason. Also, as predicted, we can't stop the run and really good running teams will grind us down. Lastly, we are a tad bit too undisciplined with penalties. One more preseason game to go. Hope we stay healthy.

Well not much can be said about this blow out. Cincinnati's backups are better than our back ups. The only good I see in this game is backup CB Joseph Gardener's huge game (6 tack, 2 int, 3 pass def). Other than that, this was a bad game. Time to move onto the season.

Another nice little feature of this game is a matchup preview for that week's opponent. Nothing here due to this being the first game of the season, but I will be showing this prior to each week's game.

Our first 4 games of the year are on the road, so we have to get out to a good start. We played the Vikings during the 2nd preseason game and they beat us 33-19. Time for a little revenge. The Vikings are led by HB Fred Williford (OVR 86) and they run their offense strictly through him. He has been designated as their primary receiver as well, so if we bottle him up, we should have a good chance of beating them.

This game was a tale of two halves. In the first half, we struggled with 2 int's and a fumble. In the second half, we were able to get some continuity and establish our running game. Our offensive line was the story of the game. Not only did they not give up a sack, the line dominated the defensive front seven of the Vikings (15 pancake blocks). This domination allowed our running game to pile up a bunch of yards and control the clock, especially in the second half. QB Y.A. Tittle struggled mightily this game (21/40 198yds 1TD 3INT), but on the good side, scampered for 78yds on 9 carries. We will not win many games with him turning the ball over like that, but having a dual threat at QB can help mitigate the turnovers.

The tide of the game turned when CB Cesar Bustamante intercepted a pass and returned it 31yds for a touchdown. This score put the Jaguars ahead 14-10 in the 3rd quarter and proved to be the game winning score. Vikings HB Fredrick Williford was dominant and but was unable to keep the Vikings in the game in the 2nd half. We have to defend the run better.

We head back out on the road to face the (0-1) Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs run a Base 4-3 defense and a West Coast type offense. Their best payer, HB Babe Dimancheff (OVR 70), borke his arm early in training camp and is still a couple weeks from being ready to play. His absence has been felt because the Chiefs struggle to run the ball (22 car 54 yds last game). Run defense is our weak point, so it will be interesting to see if we can hold them down. On defense, CB Barry Smith had a monster game last week (5 Tac, 3 forced fum, 1 fum recovery, i int, 1 pass def), so we may have to avoid his half of the field. Should be an interesting game.

The stats speak for themselves. We mauled the Chiefs. The Time of Possession tells the story. Our Offensive Line dominated, opening up huge lanes for our running backs to exploit to the tune of 275 yards. QB Y.A. Tittle did not throw an interception and got to enjoy the 4th quarter on the sidelines watching his backup finish up the game. More positives were our running backs (HB Michael Hill 17 car/103 yds and HB Robert Ferrer 10 car/84 yds) running all over the Kansas City Chief front 7 and WR Bernard Jacobson (8 cat/78 yds 3 TD) was unstoppable in the red zone.

The only negative is our fumbling issues. We must do a better job of holding on to the ball. The 1 lost fumble directly led to the Chiefs only score. Good game though.

We take the top ranked offense and the 6th ranked defense back out on the road to face the (0-2) Houston Texans. As you can see above, the Texans have struggled on offense and defenseso the only hope they really have is to run their stud running backs HB Charlie Trippi (OVR 94) and HB Vitamin Smith (OVR 78) a bunch, grind the clock and keep our potent offense off the field. Our run defense is still a little suspect in my eyes, so the Texans running game bears watching.

Now this was an ugly loss. And to believe we were actually leading 10-0 until late in the 2nd quarter. QB Y.A. Tittle (20/31 240yds 1 int ans a strip-sack fumble) had a game he would most likely want to forget. About the only good things I see from the game log is WR Rayford Thomson had a very nice game (5cat/95yds) and LB Hiram Pennington (10 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 1 passdef) played a good game, but the negatives were stark in this game.

Our fumbling issue in the running game is hamstringing us. HB Michael Hill has 3 lost fumbles in 3 games. HB Robert Ferrer has 1. If this is going to be an ongoing issue throughout the year, I may have to limit their carries and go with our 3rd string HB. Giving up 189 yards on the ground is very disappointing. We are also not generating enough pass rush (2 sacks in 3 games). All in all, I am happy to be 2-1 after three straight games on the road, but I am hoping to see improvement.

Well this four game road trip finally ends in Soldier Field where we take on the (1-2) Chicago Bears. To finish off this road trip at 3-1 would be outstanding. The Bears run a base 3-4 defense and a Balanced offense. The Bears boast a trio of tough running backs (HB Chuck Hunsinger 89 OVR, HB John Hoffman 82 OVR, HB Julie Rykovich OVR 82). If thier scouts have been studying us, they know we have big problems with tough running backs so I expect the to attack our weakness. It is really important for us to play disciplined and stay in our gaps. Also, our Offensive Line will have problems with their star defensive player, DE Ed Sprinkle (OVR 91), so will will have to chip him with TE's and HB's to slow him down.

The injury bug is starting to hit us and we have very little depth to lose many more players.

Well at least we get to play at home next week. Again, time of possession tells the story. Our front 7 never had a chance. Chicago HB John Hoffman may have been player of the game, but his partner HB Chuck Hunsinger was dominant as well (20car/122yds). And even their backup QB Steve Rominik hurt us by being very efficient and practically error-free (21/28 199yds 2TD 1INT). Lastly Bears OG Ed Bradley manhandled our DT's by recording 6 pancake blocks.

Nothing went right this game. QB Y.A. Tittle played another poor game (13/25 122yds 1TD 1INT, 7car/49yds). We need more from him going forward. The only bright spot was LB Hiram Pennington. He is really turning out to be a revelation at LB. Other than that, nothing else good happened. Our team is ready to go home.

The cool thing I have seen with the draft class is they move up and down throughout the season. Just because HB Ben Lawless is the top ranked draft prospect this week does not mean he will be the top ranked prospect by the end of the season. Also, those BBCF players can export their drafts from BBCF (with the use of a utility) and import those classes into PFS.

So we are finally at home to take on the (2-3) Indianapolis Colts. Looking at the rankings above, the Colts are in the bottom half of the league of most offensive and defensive categories. They do have a decent running game and their best player, DE Tom Fears (OVR 83), can be a terror, so we will need to scheme for him. We are still a little beat up injury-wise, but having WR Bernard Jacobson back will help us. He got hurt last game and that effected our passing game.

Seeing as how we already lost one game to a divisional opponent (Houston Texans), we do not want to lose anymore. The Tennessee Titans are tied with us for the division lead and we do not need to lose any tiebreakers to them. I hope some home cooking is exactly what this team needs to propel us to vistory.

http://i.imgur.com/KveNW.jpg

This was a very frustrating game. The turnovers killed us. We even missed a field goal. This sequence below just shows you how we hurt ourselves.

http://i.imgur.com/KF2KY.jpg

Look at that depressing sequence of miscues. It is downright disgusting that HB Michael Hill fumbled the ball on the Colts 12 yard line. That is his 4th fumble of the year. Though he is averaging 5.7 yards per carry, I may need to start limiting his carries. He is just too fumble-prone. QB Y.A. Tittle is just in a funk. He did not play well again (26/39 234yds 1TD 2INT, 2car/10yds) and his interception at our own 42 yard line with 1:08 left in the fourth quarter ended any chance we had of tying or winning the game.

Positives that I see are WR Bernard Jacobson played well (10cat/75yds 1TD) and a free agent we picked up off of the street last week and is now a starter CB Stephen Stratton (OVR 39) had a very solid game (4tackles, 1INT, 4 Pass def.). Hopefully, he can develop going forward.

Out of the frying pan and into the fryer. This is the toughest team we have played all year. Behind the magnificent running of HB George Taliaferro (OVR 94) the (5-1) Chargers are a tough team. Also, defensively, they are a swarming team and attack you up the middle with their stud DT Art Donovan (OVR 77). I suspect that we will have to control the clock to keep the Chargers rushing juggernaut off of the field.

Very surprising outcome. And I attribute this victory to one thing and one thing only. San Diego Charger HB George Taliaferro, started this game off like gangbuster, breaking off a dynamic 81yd TD run late in the first quarter. I figured we were in for a very long day. But at the 6:53 minute mark in the 2nd quarter, something amazing happened. Taliaferro broke his nose and was out for the game! Without their biggest weapon, the Chargers were toast. And our team took it to them. QB Y.A. Tittle had a very nice game. WR Terry Lovell had a wonderful game with 5cat/114yds (including a 60yd bomb from Tittle). Defensively, we played a solid game. We are still fumbling the ball far too much and the penalties are killing our drives, but we won the game. And that's all that matters.

Well we have another divisional game and we really need to get this game. We are currently in a three way tie with Tennessee and Houston with a record of 3-3. We head back out on the road to face the Titans who are lead by HB Glenn Davis (OVR 82). These tough HB's have been our weakness, so we will need to find a way to bottle him up if we are to win this game. This game will most likely be a defensive struggle due to the strong defenses these two teams have.

Words fail me. We were leading this game 20-13 at halftime. And the Titans scored 33 unanswered points! Why? We just could not stop them on offense. Titan QB Adrian Burk was fantastic (21/33 205yds 2TD 1INT) and HB Glenn Davis was dominant (14car/123yds 2TD). That combination together was too much for our beleaguered defense to handle. QB Y.A. Tittle continues his roller coaster of inconsistency (10/21 148yds 1INT). We continue to run the ball well, but we are still turning the ball over far too much on the ground. Defensively, we were horrible, allowed too many big plays and could not get off the field. Our horrible LB's are hurting us badly.

Their best player, WR John Cherry (OVR 74) is having a very good year averaging 7 catches a game for 80 yards. We will have to scheme against him to contain him. We need this game badly. Bright spots are WR's Bernard Jackson and WR Terry Lovell (8/81 and 8/90, respectively). Also our running game was extremely strong (another fumble notwithstanding). I will be making some adjustments on defense. Something has to change.

Well this week we host the class of the NFL as the (8-0) Green Bay Packers come down to Jaguar Stadium. And this game will probably be ugly. Their all-world HB Larry Coutre (OVR 100) is a leading MVP candidate. Packers QB Tobin Rote is steady and quite dangerous passing off of play-action. My gameplan is to crowd the box, slowing down the running game and making QB Rote beat me through the air. Our playoff chances were most likely destroyed last week, so from here on out, we are playing for pride and playing to see who we keep for next year.

Our offense went down to score. Then at halftime, the team captains gave a motivational speech for the ages. And wouldn't you know, the vaunted Packer offense did not score another point and they suffered their first defeat of the season. QB Y.A. Tittle was fantastic (26/36 299yds 1TD 1INT, 7car 57yds). WR Bernard Jacobson (11cat/99yds) made catch after catch on third and long to keep the chains moving and the Packer offense on the bench. Our defense bent but did not break very often. This week has us traveling to Baltimore to face the (4-5) Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are led by their very takented bookend Defensive Ends (Bob Boyd OVR 89 and Larry Brink OVR 83). Boyd dislocated his finger last game, but is probable for this game. On offense, the Ravens feature a power rushing attack led by HB Terrence Shelly (OVR 78). They have a terrible offense and middling defense, so if we can run the ball, eat the clock and limit mistakes, I like our chances to win this game.

Big win for us! QB Y.A. Tittle played his best game of the season (23/29 226yds 2TD, 8car/54yds 1TD). His is truly a dual-threat QB that can punish a team with his arm and his legs. If he played more consistently, then we could possibly have been a playoff contender. WR Bernard Jacobson played a wonder game (12cat/91yds) and our running game was strong, as usual. Defensively, we played a bend but don't break gameplan and though Texans HB Charlie Trippi had a nice game (19car/118yds 1TD), we limited Texans QB Ricardo Hodges (14/30 169yds) opportunities to hurt us down field.

We should have lost this game. Only Oakland's silly penalties kept us in the game. QB Y.A. Tittle broke his cheek bone in the 2nd quarter and had to leave the game so backup QB Genero Denny had to come in for relief. Though he played well enough (12/21 105yds 1TD), he is not the dual threat like Tittle is. Our defense played a stong game though. No standouts, but they did not allow the Raiders score in the last 40 minutes of the game. Impressive. Losing QB Y.A. Tittle for any amount of time will be detrimental to our longshot wild card shot. And the worse part, QB Y.A. Tittle re-aggravated his cheek during warmups and had to be scratched from the game. Backup QB Genero Denny played valiantly (15/24 148yds 1TD 1INT), but he is not the weapon Tittle is. We had no chance this game and we are most likely done trying to get the wildcard.

Jaguars Defensive MVP - DT Harold Loy
Jaguars Rookie of the Year - LB Hiram Pennington

To see DT Harold Loy get my defensive MVP award was shocking. I never really paid attention to him until I evaluated his stats relative to his position. He simply was a force inside. There are actually every draft class from 1951-2011 in the game. You can also import your own draft file via CSV file. This game has cine a long way. Still a few quirky things that need to be fixed, but the support is awesome and the game creator is very involved with the community.

1951 Jacksonville Jaguars

Here is a look at our Offensive depth chart:

QB -
http://i.imgur.com/h9VbB.jpg

We are only going to go with 2 QB's to start the year. It's a gamble, so we will be looking at the waiver wire to find a QB after training camp cuts are made. QB Joseph Arredondo was a free agent pick up and he actually started for the Carolina Panthers last year (290/536 2770yds 14TD 21INT). If QB Y.A. Tittle were to get hurt for a couple of games like last year, Arredondo is better suited to hold down the fort unlike our backups last year.

HB -
http://i.imgur.com/aHeKm.jpg

We have a totally revamped HB unit this year. HB Michael Hill retired and we did not resign HB Robert Ferrer. There were just too many turnovers from last year's crew. We are going to continue our running back by committee approach this season. It worked very well last year and we were 2nd in the NFL in rushing. Our 6th round draft pick HB Ricardo Phillips will start but free agent pickup HB Robert Almeida (played for Atlanta Falcons last year, 167car/917yds 9TD)will get plenty of work. HB Jim Baca will be our short yardage back (5'9" 225lbs bowling ball).

FB -

http://i.imgur.com/GhswE.jpg

No change here. They have improved quite a bit from last year. I was unhappy with their run blocking last year, so I am hoping this improves.

WR -

http://i.imgur.com/PjHmd.jpg

The starters are the same. We signed WR Andre Shull away from the Seattle Seahawks (21cat/233yds 4TD last year) and at 6'5" and 225lbs, he will be a huge red zone target for us this year. We also signed WR Charles Pollack and he played for Pittsburgh last year (9cat/72yds 2TD).

TE -
http://i.imgur.com/ywnFE.jpg

No new faces here. They did experience a ratings drop from last year though. Will still run lots of two TE sets.

C -
http://i.imgur.com/9AjWd.jpg

No changes here. I got pretty solid production here last year.

G -
http://i.imgur.com/XeSip.jpg

No changes here either. G John Kern got the Pro Bowl nod last year, but look out for G Andrew Cordero. He is very young, started all 16 games last year and will be a future star in this league at the Guard position.

T -
http://i.imgur.com/yRvPg.jpg

T John Nolan is the only holdover here. We will start our 2nd round draft choice T Wayne Siegert at Left Tackle. Sink or swim, rook.

Now a look at our defensive unit

DE -
http://i.imgur.com/J2s8d.jpg

We have the same unit from last year. I am expecting big things from this unit this year. We did not get many sacks at alll last year and we need to fix this.

DT -
http://i.imgur.com/Ky0cg.jpg

4th round draft pick DT Charlie Toogood (I love that name) starts. I may have gotten a steal in the 4th round with him. I also signed DT John Atchison and Kevin Ainsworth during free agency. Atchison played for the Minnesota Vikings last season and started 13 games for them (25tack 1sack). Ainsworth was on the New York Giants practice squad last season.

LB -

http://i.imgur.com/HDU9N.jpg

We have totally redone our Linebacker corps. Our Pro Bowl LB Hiram Pennnington is now the 7th LB. Our two rookies, 1st rounder LB Carlos Kemp and 3rd rounder LB Fred Wallner, both start at Middle LB and Weakside LB, respectively. Free agent pickup LB Adalberto Lovejoy will start on the strongside. Last season, he played for the Arizona Cardinals (48tack 1sack 1INT), but tore his ACL during week 8. He is fully healthy now, so he should help us shore up our run defense. We also have much better depth than we had last year.

CB -
http://i.imgur.com/1rl3D.jpg

We only have two holdovers here and they both will be backups. 5th round draft choice CB Larry Phelps gets the start on the left side with free agent pickup CB Donald Galloway (started 14 games for the St Louis Rams last season with 63tack and 2INT) on the right side. I like our starters here.

SS -
http://i.imgur.com/iISlz.jpg

The starter here stays the same. We picked up free agent SS Matthew Demers to back up SS Gregory Diehl. Demers played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he got 17tack and a sack.

FS -
http://i.imgur.com/4Ynm9.jpg

No big changes here. We have a little better depth here. This may be an upgrade position during the draft next year.

Well in our most extensive outing with the starters, we did a lot of good things. QB Y.A. Tittle looks like he is in midseason form. Too many yards given up on the ground by the defense, but I expect that to improve once my rookies get more experience. I am confident that our defense is better this year. We will see though.

Well, our archrivals travel to Florida to take on the Jags. The Titans are still led by their stud HB Glenn Davis. He rush for 1585 yards last year and was really their only player of consequence last year. They did draft one player of note this year. In the 1st round, they drafted a SS out of John Carroll University; Don Shula. Will be interesting to see how his first game goes.

http://i.imgur.com/U7X1V.jpg
http://i.imgur.com/7BVOA.jpg

As is typical when these two teams play, this game was a physical, hard-hitting struggle until we put the game away in the 4th quarter. In the 1st quarter, Titans QB Adrian Burk was just annihilated right as he was passing. The pass went to SS Gregory Diehl for an interception, but QB Burk was injured on the hit and was out the rest of the game. That hit set the tone for the rest of the game.

Offensively, we played very well. Though HB Ricardo Phillips is the starter, we rode the hard running of HB Robert Almeida. He has played very well since preseason. Defensively, we allowed too many rushing yards (though Titan HB Glenn Davis is a tough back to contain). Rookie LB Carlos Kemp played well (8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss).

Titans SS Don Shula ended up with 3 tackles.

I am still hoping to see our rushing yards allowed to come down this season. Hope it does. He played well, though.

Cool thing I see in the box score is how we had the ball at the 1 yard line with a few seconds left on the clock. Instead of downing the ball to kill the clock, we punched it in for the score. Insult to injury. Hope it does not come back to bite me when we play them again. They are going to be pissed.

This man was a one man gang last year (1768yds rushing, 688yds receiving, 1 Kickoff return TD). Stopping him is going to be difficult. One advantage we do have is that they are starting a rookie 2nd round QB John Emerson. Though he had a good game last game, I suspect we can harass him into some turnovers. Should be a good game.

He will probably end of with 3,000yds passing and 1,000yds rushing. Just simply amazing. Our running game punishes the Colts front seven and did not allow their suddenly potent offense on the field. Our special teams bears watching. They have allowed far too many TD returns. May have to make a move here.

Well we are on the road for our last two games. And they are super tough. We travel to Cleveland to take on the (11-4) Cleveland Browns. They are the defending AFC Champions and have a very talented team. On offense, they are led by Pro Bowl QB Otto Graham. And his main weapon is last year rookie of the year (and probably this year's MVP) HB Ken Carpenter. This monster has almost 2,400 all-purpose yards this season. Just an incredible player. On defense, they are led by last year's defensive player of the year DE Len Ford. He has been hurt the last few weeks, but is probable this game and has been a maniac pass rusher (16 sacks). This is going to b a hard game for us to win.

Prediction:

Jaguars 13

Well we go to Houston to finish out the season against the (11-4) Houston Texans. We beat these guys earlier this year, but this game will be tough. Our one saving grace is their all-world HB Charlie Trippi is out the rest of the year with a head injury. Huge blow for the Texans heading into the playoffs. Their backup HB Vitamin Smith is capable, but he is no Trippi. I would like to win this game and sweep these guys.

Here is the playoff slate Home team in bold:

NFC -
(12-4) New Orleans vs (11-5) Detroit Lions
(13-3) Chicago Bears vs (12-4) San Francisco 49ers
Bye week: (13-3) Green Bay Packers and (13-3) New York Giants

AFC -
(10-6) Oakland Raiders vs (9-7) Jacksonville Jaguars
(12-4) Cleveland Browns vs (8-8) Miami Dolphins
Bye week: (13-3) Pittsburgh Steelers and (12-4) Houston Texans

This playoff field is not as cut and dried to pick like last years field. I am still going to predict the Packers and the Browns to face off in Super Bowl 2.

Using my own personalized formula to judge and evaluate players from different positions, I have awarded the following:

Jaguars Offensive MVP - QB Y.A. Tittle (2 years in a row)
Jaguars Defensive MVP - LB Carlos Kemp (barely beating out DE Gene Black)
Jaguars Rookie of the Year - T Wayne Siegert

No surprises here. Truth be told, Siegert was the second best player on the team besides Tittle. Siegert did not allow a sack all year long and had 50 pancake blocks. He was dominant.

Wildcard Playoffs Preview:

http://i.imgur.com/DMKRD.jpg

Well, we travel to the Oakland Coliseum to take on the (10-6) Oakland Raiders. The Raiders' strength is their versatile offense. They feature a nice tandem running game (HB Elmo Watts and HB Joseph Squires, both rookies) and their offensive star is 1st rounder WR Chad Fields (OVR 96). Fields had a very nice year (96cat/1186yds 6TD) and will challenge our secondary down the field. Defensively, the Raiders have no standouts, but feature a hard-hitting secondary that will punish receivers down the field. I am not sure how to gauge this game as we are pretty evenly match. It is going to be a tough game.

Rookie HB Billy Baggett will get the start. He is a bit more dynamic than HB Ricardo Phillips.

FB -

I like my depth at this position. DE Billy Howton should be a beast. I am giddy to see how he gets after the QB.

DT -

We are a lot stronger here now. Resigning DT Charlie Toogood was critical. I love the signing of DT Brian Nevarez. He played with the Arizona Cardinals last year and was quite effective (49tack, 8sacks). I hope this finally shores up our rushing defense.

LB -
http://i.imgur.com/52Mwp.jpg

We signed LB Oscar Mata away from the Green Bay Packers. He will be our starting weakside LB. LB Tony Stokes played for the Pittsburgh Steelers last year and provides us good depth.

CB -
http://i.imgur.com/PwRXS.jpg

We were able to resign CB Larry Phelps and CB Cesar Bustamante, but the key signing was CB Paul Cervantes, the former Detroit Lions starting CB. He played very well last year (82tack, 4INT, 1TD) and will be a force in our secondary.

SS -

No changes here. This could be a weakness. SS Gregory Diehl is starting to show his age.

The Jags travel to Houston to take on the (1-6-1) Houston Texans. The wheels have fallen off the Texans this year. They were 12-4 last year. HB Charlie Trippi is still a dangerous runner out of the back field and their passing game can make plays. I just hope to play well on the road and get out of there with a win.

The next 3 games are being played against the weak NFC South. The first game is a home game with the (2-7) New Orleans Saints coming into Jacksonville. The Saints are pretty bad on offense, but solid on defense. They are led on defense by rookie DE Pat Summerall (OVR 70, 7 sacks). If we can win these next 3 games, we will be at .500 and ready to fight for a playoff spot. We have to take care of business though.

http://i.imgur.com/06eNE.jpg

If I can win the next 4 games, I could be in the playoffs. So that will be my goal. Though Baltimore has a mediocre offense, they have a tough defense, led by stud DE's Larry Brink and Bob Boyd (13 sacks and 4 sacks respectively). Our QB is very mobile, so if we can get him out of the pocket, we should be able to do well. Our run defense has to play well this week. Rookie HB Ollie Matson (OVR 82) is a huge HB (6'2" 220lbs) and a load to bring down.

Jaguars Offensive MVP - QB Y.A. Tittle (3 years in a row, helluva player)
Jaguars Defensive MVP - DE Billy Howton (barely beating out DT Brian Nevarez)
Jaguars Rookie of the Year - WR Armando Harrington

No surprises here. Harrington was a 4th round steal and should start for us next year. He was our only big play threat. Howton was sort of a disappointment, but I suspect he will get better.

FB -

FB Leo Elter is a rookie free agent that we signed during the offseason. He is pretty strong and agile with very good hands. He will start and be a solid FB.

WR -
http://i.imgur.com/ZefgV.jpg

We have pretty good depth here. Signing WR Joseph Sasser away from the New York Jets should prove helpful. He has solid stats (239cat/2922yds 21TD's over 3 season) and will be very helpful on third downs. Kind of disheartening to see WR Armando Harrington step back in development. He was awesome last year (17 yards per catch). Rookie WR William Watson goes to the practice squad.

TE -
http://i.imgur.com/35oEU.jpg

We are only going to go with 2 TE's to start the year. TE Rodney Ortega had a productive year last year (60 catches) and continues to be one of the best TE's in the game. If only his attitude was better (He has a disposition of 1).

C -

We signed Pro-Bowl T Jeremy Thomas away from our nemesis Houston Texans with a 3 year/$7 million contract. We head out on the road for our first road game. The (1-1) San Diego Chargers are starting a rookie QB. He has a lot of help though, especially from HB George Taliaferro (OVR 80). Over the past 3 years, we have played the Chargers twice, losing both. Taliaferro was the main reason for the loses, so we have to contain him. On defense, they are anchored by two time Pro Bowler DT Art Donovan (OVR 77). We are going to have to focus on runs to the outside, because him and Pro Bowl DT Dave Hanner (OVR 71) pretty much shut down the run between the tackles. The Chargers have a very weak secondary, so QB Y.A. Tittle should be able to make some plays downfield.

We are back home where the (2-2) New York Jets come to face us. The Jets have had an up and down year, especially on offense. The strength of their team is thier offensive line (averaging OVR 66), but fortunately for us, they do not have a dynamic HB to take advantage of that strength. Their starting QB Darren Billiot (OVR 62, former number 7 pick in the 1951 draft) is middling and has not played consistently throughout his career (27TD/27INT). I don't see us having much trouble with this team.

Doomsday! Just when things were going well, QB Y.A. Tittle gets undercut at the knees by a blitzing LB. He goes down in a heap. He walks off of the field under his own power, but with a bad limp. Though we won the game, QB Y.A. Tittle tore his PCL in his left knee and will be gone 6-8 weeks. He is having surgery tomorrow. This is a hugely terrible blow. We will have to change our spread offense totally, because as you can see, QB Walter Weber is not skilled enough to run the spread. We will lean heavily on HB Kevin Temple and our defense. This blows.

Week 6 Preview and Schedule:

http://i.imgur.com/gZU3j.jpg

Well we travel to meet our division rival, the (4-1) Indianapolis Colts. The Colts feature the top ranked offense in the NFL behind HB Ben Lawless. Lawless is having a sensational year. Colts QB Bob Celeri has been hurt the last 2 games, but is ready to go now and will be tough to deal with. And Pro Bowl WR King Carr (OVR 100) is a tough cover and will required a lot of attention. On defense, they lack impact players and are vulnerable in the passing game. We won't be passing very much. We will play ground and pound with our running backs and see if we can stop them defensively.

Prediction:

Jaguars 17
Colts 31

Again, this is unbelievable. We go into their house and just trounce them. Our defense played wonderfully and our offense was efficient and played well. I like how QB Walter Weber played. He did not try to make throws he could not make and took what the defense gave him. He did hit a couple of long passes, so this will stop defenses from stacking the box against the run. Good game!

Week 7 Preview and Schedule:

http://i.imgur.com/coZOC.jpg

We travel down to Houston to take on the (1-5) Houston Texans. They have struggled mightily this season on both sides of the ball. Their only weapon on offense is HB Billy Grimes (OVR 63). The last 3 years, he played for the Green Bay Packers as a backup and signed with the Texans for a starting position. He has had some success. On defense, Houston has a hodgepodge of young guys and castoffs, so there is no cohesive identity. We will again try to run the ball as much as possible and limit the downfield chances of QB Walter Weber.

Prediction:

Jaguars 34
Houston 10

Another win, but some warning signs. I do not like that we jumped out to a big lead, but allowed them to get back into the game. Secondly, we are playing very undisciplined football right now.Our defense accounted for 80 of those penalty yards and kept the Texans in the game. We will have to clean this up to stay as the only undefeated team in the NFL. HB Kevin Temple Has been dominant the last two weeks. And I love our defense consistently scoring TD's off of turnovers.

Becuase of his performance this week, HB Keving Temple was named the NFL Offensive Player of the Week! Congrats to him.

The (5-2) Indianapolis Colts travel to Jaguar Stadium this week. Not much has changed with them since we destroyed them in Week 6 49-14. I am sure they are looking for some revenge. Will use our same offense gameplan. We can't let their explosive offense on the field to exploit our defense.

Prediction:

Jaguars 24
Colts 23

And the beat goes on. Though we are without our All-Pro QB, our team has maintained our edge and have not had a drop off in performance. I love the work my Offensive Coordinator has done in adjusting the gameplan and playcalls to suit the strengths of QB Walter Weber. He has played wonderfully in his 3 starts (89.5 QB rating) and he is a big reason why we remain undefeated. Good work by our defense making the Colts one-dimensional. And HB Kevin Temple is a leading candidate for Rookie of the Year.

Week 9 Preview and Schedule:

http://i.imgur.com/S04PH.jpg

This game would be defined as a trap game. We may be looking past this game at our game with the (6-1-1) New York Giants next week. We travel to Bid D to take on the (3-5) Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys' strength is on the offensive side of the ball. Rookie HB Silas Borders (OVR 69) and their stud WR Thomas Walter (OVR 100) are the lynchpins of the offense. This team is really being held back by QB Shane Duran (OVR 37) and a very poor defense. They have a couple of impact players on defense like LaVern Torgeson (OVR 89), but are lacking at most positions. This game could be a shootout. I have a bad feeling about this game.

Prediction:

Jaguars 24
Cowboys 28

I sure in the hell hope that QB Y.A. Tittle comes back next week. QB Walter Weber took a shot in his knee and had to be replace by 5th round rookie QB Dick Flowers. Flowers did ok, but he is in no position to lead this team. I need my starter back ASAP. Our secondary could not stop the Cowboys on third down and our defense was eventually grounded down by the Cowboys running game. If my starting QB does not come back, I will have to further strip the offense down for my rookie 3rd stringer.

Week 10 Preview and Schedule:

http://i.imgur.com/8KRNu.jpg

The good news is we finally get QB Y.A. Tittle back after a 4 game hiatus. The bad news is we have to travel to New York to face a very strong (7-1-1) New York Giants. The Giants are very balanced. Every thing plays off of their strong running game with Pro Bowler HB Elmer Angsman (OVR 92). He will be toguh to deal with. The Giants are really strong on defense. They have impact players throughout their defense. Their best player on defense is two-time Pro Bowler DT Arnie Weinmeister (OVR 100). One of their starting CB's is CB Tom Landry (OVR 60). This is going to be a tough game to win.

Prediction:

Jaguars 17
Giants 28

QB Y.A. Tittle was a late game-day scratch, so rookie QB Dick Flowers makes his first NFL start with expected results. This game was a total wipeout. They dominated the time of possession and abused our defensive front 7. I sure hope our starting QB is back next week.

He is still questionable this week, so it may be another week until I have him. Thing are going relatively well though.

Week 11 Preview and Schedule:

http://i44.tinypic.com/2vioab6.jpg

We limp back home to face the (5-4) Washington Redskins. The Redskins are a pretty well balanced team that feature a strong offensive line (Avg OVR 74) and a nice running game. Their QB throws more INT's than TD's (6TD/10INT), so he can be taken advantage of. On defense, they are balanced and are anchored on the defensive line by DT Bill Bishop (OVR 72) and in the back end by LB Chuck Drazenovich (OVR 79). This will not be an easy game especially if QB Y.A. Tittle does not play.

Prediction:

Jaguars 17
Redskins 16
