I don't know how everyone else operates, but I thought I'd throw this out there, because the directories for exporting/importing are in stupidly hard-to-reach places.

Anyone who's ever been in an MP league has probably found their own solution to the problem, but in case you haven't...

SUMMARY: Windows key+R ('Run'), type in 'fof', and hit 'enter', all from the keyboard, are all you will need to bring up the FOF application data folder.

STEPS

1) Create a new folder called 'shortcuts' in C:\. That is, C:\shortcuts. The actual location/name are not important, just be consistent.

2) Next, create a shortcut of your "Front Office Football 2007" folder, rename it 'fof', and place that shortcut into C:\shortcuts.

In case you don't know where the FOF2007 folder is located, it depends on the version of Windows you run:
Win7: C:\users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Solecismic Software\
Win XP:C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Application Data\Solecismic Software\
Win Vista: really? really?? either upgrade to 7, or downgrade to XP, brah :D (also, i have no idea)

Crucial Step!

3) Bring up the System Properties dialogue. Easy way to do that is to right click 'My Computer' or 'Computer' and select 'Properties.' In Windows 7, you'll have to then click on 'Advanced system settings' or something like that to get there.

4) Click on the 'Advanced' tab of the System Properties dialogue. Then click on 'Environment Variables'.

8) Create a new user variable. Make the variable name PATH, and make the variable value C:\shortcuts; (or wherever you made that folder instead)

You're done! Now to find your exports or to import the stage files, all you need to do is hit windows+R on the keyboard, type in 'fof' or whatever, and it's up. Way faster than any other way I can think of, that doesn't clutter your desktop.

I don't think too many people do this just because I had no idea this was possible before a tech-savvy friend of mine showed me a few years ago. It was like a revelation. You can create shortcuts for commonly used folders or programs there, too, so you'll never have to navigate through a start menu or have application icons on your desktop again.

Hope that helped some people with time-saving. I've mentioned this in passing before but I figured it best to write up all the steps at once and put it in its own thread.
