Our office boy tried to sell his iPad1 via eBay this week - the first 3 times he got an e-mail saying the winning bid was fradulent, so didn't send it.

The fourth time, no e-mail, and received a note from PayPal saying the funds had been released, but were being held until proof of posting was sent, so he sent it... to an address in Nigeria. Muppet.

Now he has worked out he has been scammed, and wrote a 'strongly worded email' to the winning bidder, bizarrely threatening to both report him to the police, and go to the London address registered to the winning eBay account (which of course is something to do with him!) and throw poo through the letter box!

I have never met anyone stupid enough to fall for one of these scams, and find myself feeling slightly sorry for him.

But then I think of the question he asked me once en route to a trade exhibition: 'Which was built first - Windsor Castle or the M4?' and all of a sudden I'm no longer surprised...
