When a player attribute changes or the skill level rises or whatever, will I be automatically notified? Seems an ungodly amount of time if I have to open every individual player window every day.

There are utilities to help keep track of this stuff (PlayerTracker). If you really want to be thorough, I once got into a convention of saving files with this filename setup:
LEAGUEYEARa.txt = beginning of new season
LEAGUEYEARb.txt = after beginning of free agency
LEAGUEYEARc.txt = right before training camp
LEAGUEYEARd.txt = right after training camp
LEAGUEYEARe.txt = end of season
I confess that even in the leagues where I still make an effort to track this stuff (way less than it once was) I just do stages C and D above, and that gives me all I really feel like I need.

Good to know. I only have the demo so far, which I don't think has the utilities.

There are a few roster CSV files there. Were those created with one of the utilities, and if not, is there a way I can get hold of the program that created them?
edit: sorry about the bold

Do you mean changetracker? I have never heard of a 'Player Tracker' before. Just wanted to make sure there isn't something I am missing.
I run two changetrackers every year: the before/after Training Camp, and the before start of Early FA / after start of early FA. I think both are important.
They don't tell you everything, sometimes you just notice things about a player as he develops over the course of a season. You don't always notice these things either, but it isn't critical information or anything, just interesting.
