I just got this error.
"Unable to load library Check to ensure there is adequate hard drive disk space available."
I finally got sick enough of seeing 5'8" CB's & 5'10" QB's named "Jumbo" so I went into the fnames.dll folder & deleted the name. CRASH!
Now I can't even start the game up. How could the name generator file corrupt the entire game? :banghead:

Re-install the game to get the original .dll back?

There is a count or something in that file, I'd have to go back and check. At the very least there is a length field in front of the name, you would have needed to change that as well. You should have just swapped out Jumbo for some other 5 character name you liked better.

You don't have to use the same number of characters, but without changing the count field, you DO have to use the same number of names. I have used reshacker to get rid of all names with spaces in them, shortening most of them by one character (Van Pelt-->VanPelt, in other words) without changing anything else. But when I tried to just delete "Billy Joe," it blew up on me.

I think Billy Joe should be deleted from every league. Him and his 5000 brethren have had their run in FOF. Time for some other first names to get a chance.

A reinstall & using reshacker did the trick...
Now the names come up in a really tiny font on the player card!
Any idea where this setting is located to resolve?
