With the football one in full stride I figured it would be a good time to start getting things together for a baseketball recruit draft.
I'll be using Draft Day Sports College Basketball 2 and Draft Day Sports Pro Basketball 2 for this one.
I'll post the scoring system later and the rules (very simple rules). Basically 8 players will draft a 10 player team with 2 each from each postion on the position list.
The players in the draft list consist of the top 20 recruits for each position along with a few added players (such as a 7'4" center that wasn't top 20 and a few other players).
Will begin taking signups.

Damn, I'm dissapointed I didn't get my name in the hat on this one. Basketball is my favorite sport and I could have done well at this. lol. On a side note, anybody know if anybody is doing any interactive player dynasties. I know that I attempted a couple in the past with FBCB. Would sure like to see another one of those.

One of my "plans" for sometime this summer is creating an OOTP dynasty league with a team made up of playerrs submitted by posters. Trying to get the league setup right though. Want it to have sort of a small rec league feel to it.

Final Four Results
North Carolina vs. Connecticut
Connecticut jumps out quickly and rides the early lead to a 37-31 lead at the half. Early in the second half it seemed that the Huskies were going to run away with it but North Carolina fought back. A pair of missed free throws opened the door and a last second three pointer ties the game at 64 and sends the game to overtime. Connecticut would be too much in OT and they would pull away for a 79-69 victory. UConn was led by guard Jermaine Daniels who would drop 27 points and grab 9 rebounds.
Arizona vs. Kansas
Kansas explodes in the first half for 42 points and they go into the half with a 5 point lead, 42-37. Arizona would make adjustments at the hald and limit Kansas to just 23 second half points as they outscore them 39-23 for a 76-65 victory. Arizona a duo of dominant players as guard Matt Hampton would score 26 (5 of 8 from three) andforward Brooks Callahan who would score 21.

With the first pick of the basketball draft, Autumn's Autumnites select ...
Carlton Charles, 6'10" center from Cambridge, Idaho.
There were many great prospect out there, but the Autumnites couldn't pass on the chance for the #1 prospect in the country. Charles can score like no one's business, pull down the boards and get up for the blocks. We hope this will be the beginning of a very illustrious career.

With the second pick Team Zinto selects...
Michael Thomas, 6'5 Guard out of Camas, Washington.
Thomas looks like the stud guard and was the number one prospect on our board. A good scorer who shows flashes as a passer along with good play on the defensive side of the court we are hoping that his strong play in high school continues through out his career.

1. C Jay Jackson - West Point, VA
Truly elite all-around players are getting pretty thin on the ground, IMO. Jackson may well be one of the few left who fits that designation. It's also a pretty undersized crop of big men, and Jackson is one of the few guys who has the weight to legitimately bang inside.

The size of the big men scares me. It seems that there are only a couple that have a legit chance in the NBA.

Jackson strikes me at first glance (without seeing anything else) as a possible variety of Elton Brand I won a title with in an MP league - a short, but heavy PF who scores and shoots well, bangs the boards, and doesn't kill you on defense.

Zinto, if you want big, you can always draft Rob Price :D
He is the right size for someone who could make a big impact in the NBA, I just don't know if he has the skill to do so. He might not even have enough skill to make an impact in college.

2.3 PG Mick Hanavan - Sugar Land, TX
I have a feeling he's not going to last until my pick in the third round, so I'm going to go ahead and grab the class's top point guard by far in my estimation. He can score, dish, and steal the hell out of the ball. Plus, in a class of a lot of awfully short guys at their positions, he's got the size to be a legit point guard or combo guard at the next level.

With pick number 2.8 the Autumn Autumnites will take ...

And with pick number 3.1 the Autumn Autumnites take ...
PF Mike "Mickey" Mickens - Talledega, AL
His Tallegada Nights are over as Mickey moves off to college. He's got quick hands in the passing lane, can work the boards, is the best passer among the PFs, and is no slouch when it comes to points and blocks. We can see him being a SF in the pros with that skill set.

With pick 4.8, the Autumn Autumnites select ...
PG Ray Felton, from Wagener, SC
We like Felton's all-around game, and he has the size to hopefully compete in the NBA as well.
Isn't Ray Felton the PG already playing in the Carolinas? :D

Love the alliteration of MM and he's a double-double threat with good steal and block numbers. Also 6'8, 268 strikes me as he projects as a physical, tough bruiser at the 4 at the pro level.

We don't know yet. This seems to be a little different than the football one...actually it is different in every way :)
Those "Undeclareds" even are different.
Not sure if/when they go to college. In football the stupid ones jumped college and went straight to the pros and most failed there.
So if they don't go to college they are pretty S O L

it was much easier to have a picking strategy in the football one since there were MANY positions where people could only take ONE of. But here everyone needs two of everything and there are much fewer positions to choose from. Everyone needs everything. So it's crazy.

I like imagining he's a hybrid of Sirius Black and Darius Rucker from Hootlie and the Blowfish. Less murder, more jamming.

The Autumn Autumnites select ...
8.8 PF Scott Johnson from Orange, CA
Scott's got the chops to hit the boards, despite his size, and so is the pick of the rest of the PF lot.

The Autumn Autumnites select ...
9.1 SG Kyle Holiday from Kingfisher, OK
Kyle's got height, good ability to pass and rebound for a two guard, and has quick hands in the passing lanes. Not a great scorer, but we like him for his overall skills.
Zinto

9.2 Russ Barnes PG
Good size but not much of a passer we are hoping he learns the game at the next level.

The Autumn Autumnites select...
10.8 SF Alex Okelley from Darien, IL
We needed a small forward to complete our team, and frankly the only thing differentiating the rest of the crowd was Okelly's size, he's a beefier 228. Hopefully he can bruise some guys.
now, let's play!

I don't know if tehre's an easy way to produce this, EF, but I'd also be interested to see, for the college teams with multiple players from our draft, who's together on a team. Like Arizona, with the 5 players listed and who drafted them. If that's easier for you to post than me to piece together, that would be cool to see.

This is the NBA playoffs from the season before our players begin. Getting both games up to the season that we will begin (to see if any of our players enter the draft).

I had a small Excel mishap, so there might be some mistakes. This is all the schools that have more than one player from our draft, at the moment, along with who drafted them and in what round. I just think it's interseting to see who will be laying together. For instance, Arizona will have Zinto and DavidCorperial's picks vying for a spot, but are loaded with top round talent. UCLA has my 1.1 pick along with Lane Berlin. This should be fun.

You missed your PF Mike Mickens who is headed to Arizona also. It is going to be really crowded there.
