I always been curious. What kind of people do you grow to respect

What kind of people do you respect and hang out with? Compassion, emotional and passion type guys who love life, or guys who are laid-back and are day-by-day type people. Or the cocky and funny people, lol.

I tend to hang out witth he people who think most like me. The generally conservative type. I can get along with others ok, there just isn't much common ground between us.

I hate the kind of person who allways has to have a better story than you. You know the type, you tell a cool story and they start saying, "well, that's ok, but lemme tell you about the time I was kidnapped by aliens"

I hate the kind of people who ask questions like "what kind of people do you like/dislike." Pretty much that's it.

:D :D

Somebody WAS going to say it you know. Might as well get it over with. :)

I really value sincerity. On the flip side, I dislike phony people. I'd rather someone be straight up and honest (even if they tend to be a pain about it sometimes) than for someone to be fake and manipulative.

I also like blondes with nice tushes, and...oh, damn, wrong thread!

I really don't like selfish people. Also don't get along at all with people who refuse to even acknowledge the possibility that they may actually be wrong about anything. Other than that I can get along pretty well with most people, but I generally like to hang out with other laid-back, easy going types.

I tend to hate (dislike, actually) people who are a lot like me: Opinionated, stubborn, and abrasive. I guess that makes me a hypocrite. Damn, I hate hypocrites too.

I dislike working with people who are incompetent. Primarily those who are hired for a purpose, supposedly know how to do something, but try to get by through BSing their way when it is obvious that they have no clue. Thus only leading to more work for anyone else involved.

I tend to like people who have a solid moral system which is compatible with my own. This usually means Christian, but not always. I also like people who are disciplined enough to work for their goals.

I tend to dislike people who make "pronouncements." This just means people that state opinions as if they are fact. Like "That movie is horrible. If you like that movie you are dumb." Stuff like that. Puts me off really quickly.

Hate is a powerful word that only weak people use to describe their concerns.

"Hate if a powerful word that only weak people - or lazy people, or people who tend to speak in hyperboles, or people who don't want to spend 20 minutes explaining themselves on an internet message board - use to describe their concerns."

It really could be these or any number of other reasons - couldn't it?

P.S. I hate congregations of people where the individuals are made to feel uncomfortable when/if they speak freely about an issue with a viewpoint that doesn't comply with the majority of the congregation.

I concur whole-heartedly. Add to that the process of posting something against what others have said instead of coming up with something original of your own.

I geniunely try not to dislike anybody. After all, we're ALL after the same thing- happiness. As such, I respect another's efforts to achieve same. That said, I dislike anybody that harms another (either physically or mentally). If the world remembered and adhered to the Golden Rule (do unto others as you would have them do unto you), we'd ALL be much happier. Problem is most people assume their happiness is achieved independently (ie selfishness).

Excellent post.

Selfishness is the root of most evil.

If the world remembered and adhered to the Golden Rule (dont be in Sam's way), we'd ALL be much happier. Problem is most people assume their happiness is achieved independently, when really, they should be working in concert to achieve my happiness.
