Just an FYI for anyone with a LinkedIn account, you should probably change your password. Over 6 million hashed passwords have been stolen and leaked out for hackers to crack.

I wonder if this explains some of the spam I've gotten from a guy I'm connected with on linked in. I've gotten stuff from his personal account and some items labeled as originating from his business email account have been blocked by our spam filters.
I'm changing my password, and I'm really glad this wasn't one of my old school passwords that I foolishly used on multiple sites.

Also remember to change the password on other sites you have used this. Facebook for example and especially any e-mail accounts.

Thanks for this. I also got a spam from a work connection yesterday, so I bet that was connected to this.

Eh, not really as important for those that aren't using dictionary words in their passwords... IMO.

According to linkedin, they're emailing people whose info was on the stolen list. So if you don't hear from them, don't panic.

If you're using the same password for linkedin that you use for other accounts (email, games, etc), change them right now. :)

I use "who cares" type passwords for things like linked in.

I had never really used it before, but I'm finding it to be (or will be) a good way for me to announce to the professional people I want to know that I'll be switching jobs in a few weeks. I have let my contacts stuff in Outlook get a little stale, so LinkedIn has been good for updating it.
