Personally I use the Draft Analyser, set it up to my own settings and manually enter the projected rounds that I would draft them in.
At the end of the day though, if you're definately after a CB then pick one up earlier. If you think someone is too good to last so long then one of the 31 other teams will too

just downloaded stelmack utility suite and simed a season and extracted then analyzed that years draft..to be honest im looking at the figures..stats..bars and finding it hard to know what im looking at i can take a guess but not sure...i.e when looking at bars you see the blue bars but there is a white line also present is this what they are really going to be rated?? also i went to sort by..and for instance asked to rate by accuracy or deep passes but i dont really get a clear idea who excels or does not

When I load the Draft Analyser I click the Rate heading so it sorts by that. (may need to click twice so the best are on top, not the worst).
The white lines are the combines (how good the player should really be), and the blue bars are the projected ratings. I tend to use the bars to see how good somebody is, then see if the combines affirm that.
After you have the order set you can number the players. I count 32 players and press 1 on the keyboard, you'll notice this adds a 1 to the round column. So anyone in that should be a first round talent. Do the same for rounds 2-7 and you will have a basic idea of who goes where.
The problem is Punters and Kickers get really good ratings, but nobody ever picks them high so you need to use some common sense there

I think generally adjusted rating is a good guideline to follow. If you're in single player, it makes it fairly predictable. In MP, anything can happen. If you spot a guy you really like, don't be too picky about where you pick him. Weigh "picking him at a good value spot" vs "Am I OK with not getting him because I waited too long"?
The ones who will last to the 4th/5th will tend to be the ones that just don't look very good, in MP. Guys with a few decent scores here or there but a variety of other flaws. Bad combines with bars that are too high for them. Or decent combines overall but bars that just seem too low to start with.

cheers aston..yes thats what i usually do, i asked how i could be reasonably sure when players would leave the draft i.e 1st, 4th or 7th round, so i dont waste interviews as i like to interview even a small number of 7th rounders. SO the top 32 in adjusted rating would be a give a good idea who may go in the 1st round then?

Well, as I said, MP and SP are totally different games. MP, if a guy is really good, no matter what his grade, bet on him going in round 1 or the very top of round 2.
Clear stud FBs are late 1 or round 2 territory depending on how good they are since there's always that one team that likes to do this.
Stud K/Ps also go in late round 2 quite frequently Just saw a kicker go 2.01 in the CyFL last draft. People figure if they can lock up a position like that for 10+ years, it's worth it. Only the clear studs though.
In SP you can be reasonably sure teams mostly follow the ADJ list (but not always), and there are other quirks, like almost no QBs ever get selected in rounds 2 and 3 (IIRC). I don't think the top 32 in ADJ tend to go that way in either MP or SP though, and especially not in MP. I suppose it's a reasonably good approximation.
