View Full Version : Maybe a timeout was in order?
Dallas: Strong formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 43 with dime personnel and strong-side man, otherwise cover-7 zone coverage, keying aggressively on the pass.
1-10-DAL14 (2Q: 00:41) Chris Bauer pass completed to WR Dustin Coleman for 46 yards. Tackled by S Quentin England. Coleman gained 19 yards after the catch. The quarterback threw into double coverage.
Start of third quarter.

Damn it, Coleman! Run for the sidelines! You know our coach is Herm Edwards and he's not good with clock management!

I've seen similar situations. I've always assumed that the "go into hurry up?" decision is make prior to the play sequence with no more checks until the next play sequence begins, so if there's no time for the next play sequence to begin, you miss that opportunity entirety.
