Does anyone actually buy into the theories posited on this show?

I find what they postulate interesting, yet they haven't come up with anything that just screams alien intervention. Nothing seems to be built with materials unavailable to humans of the time. None of the building seem to have any type of unexplained technology.

They don't even have a trinket that cannot be explained.

It's entertaining, but just reeks of people desperate to make a connection that just isn't there.

Your last sentence sums up that show quite nicely.

While it is interesting, the way too prevalent hyperbole on that show really grates on me. "Look, we have all this evidence!!". And then when you watch the show it is nothing more than anecdotal stories, sometimes second and third hand stories and some grainy/blurry pictures or videos.

I can't take anything the dude with the crazy hair says seriously. You know who I'm talking about.

no i dont buy their theories either. but if you believe aliens are out there, it would be extremely arrogant to think they fly in our skies now but not 10-15 thousand years ago. we really dont know much about what happened 10 thousand years ago and even less 10 million years ago

that dude with the crazy hair looks funny though

It's completely absurd. Any rational person knows that what others think of as being done by ancient aliens was actually the work of an ancient race of humans that wiped themselves out with nuclear weapons.

Aliens are in Atlanta.

Well off course there are modern aliens, it's the believe in ancient aliens that is pure poppycock.

Don't know, but the premise made for a really good C64 game back in the day (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zak_McKracken_and_the_Alien_Mindbenders).

In a completely unrelated story, my son's friend (11 years old) is planning a hunting trip to capture/kill bigfoot.

My wife likes the show for the interesting unexplained phenomena, but doesn't buy their theories at all, so she's pretty much where you are. I can't really stomach the show myself.

Can a mod please move this to the Bigfoot thread?

Using Cowboys & Aliens clips at the beginning of an episode doesn't really help its credibility.

They weren't completely wiped out but between them and the Cylons, it got us on the right path.

My mother is staying with us and watches this show religiously. I roll my eyes on occasion at some of the more over-the-top moments and there are many stretches.

That said, at the risk of submitting myself for a tinfoil hat, I think there are oddities in our history that are not yet explained satisfactorily, and therefore I understand their point.

The problem is when you blame everything on aliens. You know who the blame for astroturf don't you? The aliens.

I love that show, though in full disclosure I spent a couple months working on it. You take one small leap of logic after another until youre going "Oh my god, that WAS a war between fairies and elves"

Close. They are actually time travelers from the future. That's why they are careful not getting caught. The whole butterfly thing.

Poor example. Everyone knows that Rick Moranis used a shrink ray on those animals.
