You just click the little "want to read this on Kindle? Click here to tell the publisher" link in the grey box down below the cover image on the left side of the screen.
When I saw that Marc was posting this, I thought it was going to be his autobiography.

Sounds cool, but I don't have time for stupid books! I'm in the second knock-out round of the Euro Cup.

Hopefully there are some little stories in there about various things, like the guy on the SI forums who once put on a suit when his Championship Manager (back when it was called this) team was about to have their FA Cup final.

Sorry for asking the question in the wrong spot but I'm the typical dumb American when it comes to foot 2 ball.
How often are subs played? Also, is it typical to substitute during the games? Just one more... Are subs played more during friendlies?

Subs are played...fairly frequently. In fact I wonder if there's a statistic somewhere out there. Definitely not using all per match, but maybe one or two a match. Typically they're made during the game (as opposed to during at halftime). The conventional wisdom (in real life) is to sub right around the 60 minute mark generally.
Definitely more subs played during friendlies.

Googled and couldn't find a statistic for the use of substitutes. Off the top of my head I'd place it at maybe 0.75/subs per-game, per-team?

Yeah. Friendlies are typically for getting people match fitness. So I sub just about the whole team throughout the second half. In competitive matches, where there are typically 3 subs allowed, I might use one or two around 60' for the most tired/worst performing players. I look again around 75' to think about using the rest of the substitutions.

i use Scotland and have at least 3 under-21 on the team at once and 2 goalkeepers on the bench(i believe so? its been a while, but i could be wrong on that one)
It does help get my young guys some playing time as subs.

Maybe SI can get excerpts of the book to scroll while matches are being played in the background, if they want people to read it. Or does everyone else have a computer where that takes no time at all?
