Hi,
Crazy problem with my computer, Windows 2000 Prof. It always ran the sports sims without problems--until a couple of techs spent a day with it at my school. Now, everything's fine except for FOF, TCY, and OOTP.
Here's the deal: I attempt to start the game, see the hourglass for a split second, and nothing happens. This happens whether I begin from the Program Menu or the command window. Task Manager never notices--it's as if the program isn't there. But it is there.
Any computer gurus out there have ideas?

If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest e-mailing Jim (support 'at' solecismic.com) and see if he has any suggestions. He may have had other customers experience similar problems.

Do you still have local administrator rights on your PC?

Assuming this is FOF4, the easiest and quickest thing to try to do is just uninstall and reinstall to see if that fixes it. (Do the same for TCY)
(Note: Before you do, backup your universe folder if you want to keep your "dynasties")
(2nd Note: MAKE SURE you have your paper slip with your name and reg code for FOF and TCY, if not you need to contact Jim)
If this is FOF2001 or FOF2002 (edit: or downloaded TCY), then you should contact EA about your problem since that is licensed through the internet.
As for OOTP, got to 400 Software Studios and contact them.

I do--Solecismic says it could be an eLicense problem, since .400, EA, and Solecismic all use ViaTech. So, I've sent an e-mail off to them.
I still have no idea what this all means, but at least something's happening!

Thanks for all the help--but no, sabotai, the uninstall/reinstall didn't work. I'll be hitting up .400 and EA, though I hope something comes back from ViaTech.

Did you disable the LicCtrl startup program? (Complete guess here).

ScottVib,
I have no idea. How do I find out?
