Band members whose solo career amounted to one hit.

Points for notability of both the band and the hit, plus the relative lack of impact from the further solo catalog. No formal scoring of course.

At first blush, I'm having a hard time coming up with anything Anasazi cliff carving worthy, much less Mount Rushmore worthy.

Dave Wakeling who went from the one hit wonder band The English Beat (Save it for Later" to form the new group (of basically himself and one other who didn't do much) General Public (who also became a one-hit wonder(Tenderness))

The Fleetwood Mac ones are good. I was thinking along those lines of bands with multiple members who had solo careers - Styx, Eagles, etc.

I guess in that vein, Steve Perry from Journey with Oh Sherrie would qualify, although he might have had a second minor hit off that album, I don't remember.

Styx and Eagles wouldn't work as Deyoung had many (crappy) hits, I don't believe Shaw had any. He coformed Damn Yankees (barf) instead. Eagles,same. Henley had a bunch of hits and Frey and Walsh a few. Frey is the closest but he had The Heat is On and Smuggler's Blues. Perry would definitely work. I don't think anything beside Oh Sherri charted. I remember the followup but it was a stinker.

We seem to be stuck in the 80s :)

I'm kinda surprised by the lack of love for Time of my Life - Bill Medley. That song was huge. Hit top 5 in every chart, tops in a few. Hell, hit #8 again 4 years after it was released - due to the movie hitting TV. And, the Righteous Brothers were pretty big. Members of the RocknRoll Hall of fame, with multiple hits - including the most played song in Radio history (You've lost that lovin' feeling).

I had to look it up - I would have figured Rough Boys had charted high as well, but it actually did worse than A Little Is Enough.

Still, I think Townshend had enough success in his solo career with those songs, plus Slit Skirts, Stardom In Action, Give Blood, Face the Face and Secondhand Love to not be considered a true "one-hit wonder".
