The Amazing Race 2

Since there seems to be nothing going on right now I will try to get this going. I will be posting the rules over the next 3 days as I have the time. We will start the game on Monday the 15th.

This is a game of The Amazing Race meets Werewolf. It will work much like the first time I ran the game with a few tweaks to tighten up the gameplay a bit.

There will be more details available to the players to understand how each portion of the race will work.

The rule that I like the best about this game is that players are not "out" of the game until they have been eliminated in both sections of the game. If you are voted out day one you may continue to post until your team is eliminated from the Race portion of the game. I think this adds a nice twist to strategy and increases participation in thread.


This is a two part game. There will be the race portion which will pit team verss team in a friendly competition to see who will arrive at the final destination first. The other part will be basic werewolf which will tie into the "Fan Favorite" vote.

Race Rules

Player Ratings
- Players will have 18 skill points randomly assigned to three areas: Travel, Physical and Mental
- Each player will have 3 points to assign to their skills prior to the game (may assign all to one skill or split among multiple skills)
- Travel Skill: Used for all travel portions of the race; the higher you are rated the quicker you may reach a destination
- Physical Skill: Used for any challenge which is deemed a physical challenge
- Mental Skill: Used for any challenge which is deemed a mental challenge

Team Effort
- Teams will have 10 effort points which they may use throughout the race
- They may select to use from 1 to 10 effort points on any given leg of the race
- Effort will be used for that entire leg; example: selecting 3 points of effort for leg 1 will use 3 points for all portions of that leg
- All portions of a leg will be capped so that using effort will only possibly help just so much during the "events" (example: using 3 points of effort may max your team out for an event so there would be no difference to your result if you used 3 or 5 points that leg)
- Effort may also be used to hinder other teams; your effort points must be used against a specific team that you designate and they will be used that leg to hinder that team the entire leg

Sections of a Leg
- Travel portion will be any section of travel; this includes getting from the pit stop to any portion of a leg, getting to an airport, getting from an airport to a chalenge, getting to the pitstop
- Roadblock portion will be a portion where only one team member may participate, only that player's ratings and team effort will count towards that event; players may not perform more than 2 consecutive roadblocks for their team and the maximum roadblocks for a team member will be determined by the number of legs (once number of teams has been determined)
- Detour portion will be a choice of two events, each team will select one event to attempt
- Fast Forward may be available up to twice throughout the race; teams may only use the fast forward one time and the first team to successfully complete the challenge will get it
- U-Turn may be used up to 3 times during the race; a team may only use the u-turn 1 time during the race; the team that uses it will force a team to perform both sections of the detour

Elimination
- During an elimination leg the team which finished that leg in last place will be eliminated from the Race portion of the game. Any member of that team that is still "alive" in the werewolf portion of the game may continue to post in thread and play that part of the game.

Werewolf Rules

Win Conditions
- Wolves win if they gain a 1:1 ratio with the "non-wolves"
- "Non-wolves" win if they eliminate the wolves

Fan Favorite (Lynch) Vote
- Each day a vote will be held to remove a player from the fan favorite voting.
- The player with the highest vote total will be removed from the werewolf portion of the game; this player will lose all werewolf abilities but can remain in thread as long as his/her team is still alive in the Race portion of the game
- A tie vote will result in an unknown consequence known only by the director (me)
- The game will continue until both portions are completed (expect the race to end after the werewolf portion)
- The fan favorite will be chosen from the remaining pool of the winning werewolf players (if the village wins any villager that was still alive in werewolf portion will be eligible, if the wolves win any wolf that is still alive in the werewolf portion will be eligible); this will be awarded after the entire race is completed (I will be tallying votes based upon different events in the race and with each result I will announce the top 5 from the current remaining werewolf players, in no particular order)


Werewolf Roles

Fanatical Fan - This person has watched every minute of every show since the show began and can read the players very well. Prior to each deadline this person may submit one player's name to analyze to see if that person is a wolf or not. Once removed from the werewolf portion of the game the player will lose this ability (but may continue to post in thread until the player's team is eliminated from the Race).

The Saint - This player has a backstory that reads like a saint, they helped orphans survive the zombie apocalypse by giving up all of their money to the evil banker who released the zombie horde in an attempt to take over the orphanage so that he could sell it for a prophet. He did that all while rescuing a kitten from a burning building which the government conspired to attempt to burn down so they could blame the fire on the quakers and use that as an excuse to invade Pennsylvania (and it sas that in a spare change video). This saint has the chance to use his/her power to sway the elimination vote one time during the Race.

The Russell - An evil player that will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. He becomes enraged if he is discovered and will take out a player of his choosing with him if he is voted out of the fan favorite voting (lynch vote).

General Rules

Deadline
- 10 PM EST weekdays will be the deadline for both portions of the game
- No weekend deadline, feel free to post throughout the weekend

Private Messages
- No quoting from private messages in thread; you may summarize but no direct quoting
- Wolves will have unlimited private messaging ability as long as they remain in the werewolf portion of the game
- Players may send 3 team related PM's per day (running deadline to deadline) to each other; please copy me (my inbox is going to blow up); weekend counts as one day in terms of the PM limit
