Somehow I thought Park Wars had to do with Parking Lots or putting a boot on a vehicle.

Thanks for posting the link - I hope you guys will give the newsletter a read. As mentioned there is a 50% off coupon in there good through Friday of this week on any fully released game or season disk even Total Pro Golf 3 which was just officially released over the weekend.
Park Wars is a game concept I came up with about two years ago. Last year I had a working build and decided to just put it on the shelf and while I was working on some of my other projects I decided to dust it off and finish it up and put it out there and see what the reaction is. All of my games draw from my own personal interests - this one happens to combine my interest of strategy simulations like Civilization with my interest in the the history of theme parks. I'm intrigued by the history of how Disney World came to be and sort of the process behind designing and then running their properties and even more so now that Universal has really decided to challenge Disney. That's sort of the basis for the game - although much like in Civ everyone starts out with nothing. If the game does get some kind of following though I definitely think it could expand to have scenarios and the like. And of course its very moddable so the community can certainly add all kinds of real life stuff in there pretty easily.
Also because its a brand new idea that nobody really knows what to expect from I made even the FirstAccess version (and for those of you who don't know that just means you can pre-order, get a discount and play betas) have a demo (which I never do) so you can download it, mess around with it (read the walkthrough from our website or the game help option first) and if you like the idea then pre-order it and try and help build some support for it. If not, you gave up your time to help out one of the remaining indie text sim developers. Feel free to provide feedback too if there is something that would get you into the game but doesn't exist now. Like I said, I felt it was a fun concept and that the game plays pretty well and relies on good use of strategy and planning.
And before the pitchforks are sharpened and the tar and feathers are prepared let me address the issue of football. I said months ago I would continue work on it and begin discussing it when I had something of substance to show. Work has continued on it, progress has been made and I hope to be able to have something to show for it in the not too distant future. In the meantime we want to be able to provide games to play (and buy) which is what I hope the sale and release of a new concept game will provide.

Gary - very well said and impressive newsletter. As someone who has purchased a number of your games, I wish you the best in your marketing efforts. I will give Park Wars a try...probably over the weekend.

What if I want to purchase one of your games without the 50% off discount?

I've played a few Wolverine games, and while they have not been something that held my interest for very long, they have generally been decent games.
I've purchased 2 basketball games and got some use out of them, but I just end up comparing them to FBCB and IMO, they don't compare. I also bought one of the golf games and got my money's worth.
Has anybody played the Music Wars game? I might give it a try with this sale if somebody had any positive feedback on it.

Thank you - I appreciate that offer very much.
To do so just place a normal order in the webstore. You have to use the coupon code to get the 50% off so if you don't enter a code you can pay without the discount.

Thanks - try the free demo. I mean who knows, it might be something that catches your interest or since its still in beta you might play it and think "if it only did X then I would like it" and then you could communicate that to me and I can see what can be done.

Just FYI the sale is on products that have been released - MWR2 or Park Wars would not qualify for that discount since they are in beta although Park Wars does have a 10% discount code you can use and the price of MWR2 is already discounted for the beta rate
We always give a discount if you order during beta - so why a code for PW and not for MWR2? Back when the MWR2 beta started we always just discounted the beta for everyone but then we had some customers (like DT) say they want to pay regular price even during pre-order just to help us out so going forward from there we just put the regular price in and offer a discount code on the beta you can choose to apply or not.

I didn't even know there was a Total Pro Golf 3. I've been wanting a golf management game. What's the word on the street?

Nobody ever wrote about the series better than Bill Harris. I'm going to link you to his thoughts on TPG2 back in the day. Basically the game is everything it was there with a new UI, better golfer AI, additional twists to the RPG system, in game daily news blurbs from each tour, the ability to use season disks (we have the 2012 one available as an add on and if that does ok we'll probably put together some historical ones or like an all-time greats one) and the in game achievement system (which you can participate for free in the TPG Challenge and try to win a free game)

As always you can download the game to run it as a demo and there are a few screens at the TPG3 page (http://wolverinestudios.com/tpg3.html) - one thing to clarify for anyone who has played my more recent games. When I moved the code to .NET I was able to develop a full screen UI for the basketball games and Park Wars. With TPG3 all of the code was still in VB6 with the fixed 1024x768 screen size. I attempted to port it but it was not porting well, contained alot of legacy code that would have needed changing (some of which was written by Shaun) and I wanted all the courses for TPG2 to be able to be used so I couldn't really change the gameplay screen anyways so TPG3 remains in the fixed window. If that's a deal breaker for anyone so be it but I never want anyone to get surprised (in a bad way) with my games so I wanted to make sure that was clear. The game is really a fantastic game - very easy to get into, rounds can be played in like 10-15 minutes and it just is a game that grows on the people who gave it a chance so I hope you'll take a look and enjoy the game.

TPG3 is only PC, correct? No Mac?

Correct although some people have reported being able run the games using a Windows emulator. You could always try the demo and see if it works.

Gary,
Based on the reviews (and wanting a golf sim for quite a while) I went ahead and purchased. I'm having issues licensing the game. I posted on your forum as well. Looking forward to playing.

I bought TPG2 many years ago, then played some DDS:CB when it came out even though I don't follow college basketball at all so I bought both TPG3 and DDS:CB2 with the 50% coupon.
Wishing you guys many more sales until this is over and many more in the future! :)
