View Full Version : OT: Three Days of Debauchery in July

I figured I'd go ahead and post this now to give people plenty of time to find other things to do... but I'll be heading down to Texas for my annual Red Sox/Rangers series July 29-31st. I actually don't know if I'll be going to all three games. This is the first time in years that the Sox haven't played a weekend series with the Rangers, so I'll be taking some time off work to see them play.
I don't know how happening Arlington gets on a Tuesday night, but if those in the DFW area (Sachmo, Senator, HFP, JeeberD, and anyone else I may have forgotten) want to get together and go see a game, let me know. I can probably get shitty tickets for free.
BTW, I was planning on doing something similar for the Red Sox/Royals series, but that also happens to be a mid-week series, and it's coming up next week. :(

Hey, sounds like fun (the game, not the sock in the nose :)). Is it the Tuesday the 29th game that you want to get together at? Just need to know so that I can get work off that day.
It's been a long time since I've been to a Rangers game, so a trip to The Ballpark will be really nice...and of course, meeting ya'll will be cool as well... :p

let's all figure out what day is the best day to go. We have our choice of Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

I would love to go. My schedule does not have an open date on it through August. I am on 7 days a week. Depending on the situation, I would love to squeeze out of here and join the fray.
If the world is quiet, that bodes well for my attendance. I will know more as we get closer.

I'm free whenever. I'll take a half day. I work in Bedford, so getting to Arlington isn't a problem.

I have the day off, so everything is according to plan on my end.
I'm also going to Houston for three days in late June to see my Astros play the Rangers. This will be my first trip to see the Astros play at Minute Maid/Enron Park, and I'm REALLY excited about it. I'm just sad that I never got to see them play in the AstroDome...

Argh, just got back from Houston. Fun trip except for those Rangers beating the Astros yesterday.
Hopefully the Sox won't have so much trouble with them next month... :)

Hey guys, just a heads up. My girlfriend may be moving this week (she decided to get out of her lease at the last second), and if she indeed is I'm unfortunatly going to be obligated to help her. Hopefully everything will work out and I'll be able to make it, but I'm not sure.
Y'all go ahead and decide when and where to meet and I'll let you know by Thursday morning whether or not I can make it.

Yep, I'm still coming. I guess the easiest thing to do would be to meet at the Home Plate gate, then pick up our tickets? Game starts at 7... you want to meet at 6:30?
Also, how much do you want to spend on tickets? We could always get cheap seats, or we could try and find some "ticket broker" selling good seats.

yeah, it was a great time! Of course, on the way home there was a bad traffic accident that closed I-35 for an hour, so I didn't get home until 2 a.m.... but it could have been worse. Could've been me in the accident.

There are always accidents on I-35. Last Saurday I was a half hour to work because between Denton and Corinth (about an 8 mile drive) there were four accidents...
Anyways, glad that you guys had fun. Sounds like it was a hell of a game, but I bet Cam was pissed with the ending.
Hopefully next year I'll be able to come along too!
