What are the best meals/restaurants/buffets going right now?

I'll be there next week! For buffets, the best deal is to get the Buffet of Buffets pass. You pay $45 and get 24 hours access to several of the buffets on the strip. Total Las Vegas - Buffet of Buffets (http://www.caesars.com/total/las-vegas/buffet-of-buffets/)

For higher end buffets, the ones at the Wynn, Bellagio, and the Cosmopolitan are rated pretty high, and the new Bacchanal Buffet at Caesar's is supposed to be incredible.

As for restaurants, there are tons, in just depends on what kinds of food she would be interested in. For a just off-strip place, Lotus of Siam has some of the best Thai food in the country at very reasonable prices.

Damn, was just looking up a little non-hotel steak & seafood place I used to love (Alan Albert's), and it's closed. Such a pity.

Not cutting edge information, but:

-I'm not wild about the $45-50 24 hour pass, but if you could make it work to hit the ph Spice Market Buffet on Saturday and then the Paris Sunday brunch, that would be worth the effort, both are very good. My guess is that *they* set the 24 hours, and nearly everyone will end up just getting one legit meal from it, and/or will spend way too much time in those shithole casinos to take advantage... so not much of a deal.

-Perhaps the upcharged Bacchanal at Caesar's is indeed great, but it involves spending time at Caesar's, which takes a lot of doing. For me, the one and only eating spot at Caesar's is Bradley Ogden (right outside the unholy demonic pit where they stow Celine Dion) where the menu is solid, but the burger is just fucking unreal.

-The Wynn has, in my view, the best overall fine dining options, including their excellent buffet. Never disappoints.

-A surprisingly good spot is the Grand Lux Cafe at Venetian - big menu, nothing exceptional, but it's all above average. There's a Mexican themed place there also that is very good. Venetian is growing on me, overall.

-My favorite off-strip spot if you have a car is Hedary's (http://www.hedarys.com/docs/2011Vegas_main.htm) -- nothing really outlandish, just excellent and cheap Mediterranean/greek fare.

The 24 hours start from the time you buy the pass. My strategy is go get it mid afternoon, so you get a late lunch/late dinner then breakfast/lunch the next day.

A straddle of late Saturday afternoon at planet hollywood, and then Sunday brunch at Paris would be a very good play, then, especially if you have a well planned escape route from both properties once you're done eating.
