I teach a broadcast journalism class, and one of the projects I'd like to do is have the students create one of those short little segway segments that the History Channel does so well. For instance:
A show is on about the Civl War, and before coming back from the commercials, they'll air a 5-10 second reinactment of a man dressed in Civil War attire cleaning out his rifle, etc. A very simple "History Channel Music Track" is played, and something small is written about the segment or something like that.
I know how I want the assignment to look, but for the life of me I can't find examples of these to share. I know it will be difficult for the students to visualize without true examples. I don't have a way of recording something from my TV at the moment either (unless Direct TV allows for something like this that I'm not aware of).
Examples could be for really anything that would require some sort of costume work, or specific scene that is unmistakable (for instance, a sitcom wouldn't work because we don't have the true actors).
Thanks so much for helping out!
