I was wondering if there are any historical draft files for 2011, 2012?
If so, where?

If not, I guess I will just be editing draft names.

Thanks.

EDIT: The game starts in 2010... /facepalm

Well, I found almost everything in the reference thread. Though I have a small hole (giggity).

I don't know if they exist or not but if anyone has them or can point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Roster files: 2009, 2010

Draft files: 2009-2012

Thanks!

Bump.

The current game starts in 2010. So, I only need the 2009 roster file. Though, I still need the 09-12 draft files.

I feel like I am asking Vault City citizens for information.

Nothing like that. It's just that many (probably most) knowledgeable people reading this board regularly have little/no interest in "real" rosters and draft files, and therefore simply can't help you.

I was in hopes that someone already has them and could just share them.

Or like maybe Mizourah or Racer had some info.

This guy did a 2010 file, you will have to PM him though:

Thanks Mizz. If I cant get a hold of them I will try my hand at creating something for the few I am missing.

I had them somewhere, but I can't find them on my backup drive, so I must have deleted them.

I only play the 2012 roster anymore anyway. I'm sure someone around here has them, so maybe ask in the main forums?

While I'm one of those people Ben described who doesn't really use the real rosters... if you're new to the game, you might be wasting your time with the pursuit of year-by-year roster files. They aren't going to be of much use to you in playing one NFL style career -- as I recall, the way the game works as an NFL-based sim is that you use only one year's roster files, and then use an NFL-based draft file each year from there -- you never make use of a second roster file in an ongoing career. Just FYI.

Oh, and prepare for grave disappointment if your goal is really to model the real NFL with this path. It might sound alluring, but unless you're committed to going *way* back in time and playing a "historical" style career, I think you'll find the recreation of the NFL to be rather unpersuasive. That's why most grizzled vets here focus on long-term game-created universes... just much more the wheelhouse of this particular game.

After playing in historical leagues like I have, I am almost of the mind set it would be better to just use the FoF generated classes and go in and rename the players to match players in that draft, or better yet (and probably easier) is to use Ben's draft class generator and rename in there.

Quicksand- Yeah, I know. You start with a roster file as the sim start then each year you import a draft class.

I enjoy having familiar names when I play text sim sports games. I tend to gravitate twards the mid 80's through the 90's for football. It's when I became a fan as a young child. So, when I start say in 1989, for me the history of the nfl is as it historically happened and I re-write it moving forward. Usually only giving myself 10-12 years to accomplish set goals. I wish there was some ability to change league set up with divisions and teams but, it's a small price to pay for such a great football sim game.

Eventually, I will be trying out a long term sim. With that, I will be using a complete fictional set up.

Yoda- Yeah, I've got that in my head as well.

Thanks for the responses guys! Once I get comfortable with the game again (been playing off and on since EA fooled around with it), I wanna try a MP league.
