Great coach. Great person.
Shocking, yet not shocking news.

Whoa. Even if I agree that it isn't that shocking.

It always made me a little uncomfortable that he was still coaching, it seemed like he was going to go at any moment. 350 pounds, 63 years old, 7 prior heart bypass surgeries, division 1 head coach is not what you should be doing. He was one of the great personalities on college basketball, I wish he would have stayed in studio after the USC thing.

Wow. That's sad. Seemed like a great guy and a coach who did more with less than most b

Great guy. One of my favorite Majerus moments:

He was brutally tough on his players, but knew how to get results. He truly was a great basketball mind and a very nice guy off the court.
Some of his practice stories would make Bobby Knight blush, :) but he was always there when his players were in need. Gonna miss him!
RIP Rick

I remember meeting him on Bourbon street, right before Miami and Utah played. I asked him how the game was gonna go... he responded it would be a blowout. Miami naturally won :)
i still hate basketball, but thats a fond memory :)

That clip is awesome. Lavin barely held it together.

I wouldn't be shocked if he did that on purpose just to try to break Lavin.

Just like mauboy1 said, it was shocking, but of course not shocking.
Shocking in that it almost feels like it's out of nowhere. After so many heart surgeries and being overweight and yet still being around, you kinda figure Majerus will be some oddball that beats the medical odds and just keeps chugging to a natural death at 80 for whatever reason.
Not shocking, of course, because, hey, overwieght... heart surgeries... high stress job.
I always liked him. RIP Rick.
