To MOTS or not to MOTS

Of course RavenHawk is going to say "Yeah MOTS!" :p

Now you always hear, I wish I MOTS my cup match, I could have beat that team! I'm now put in that spot... I think I could beat him with a MOTS, but that would just about kill my league game... As TP usually say, Cup games are just for that extra PIC each week.

The facts are I'm @ home vs a really good div III team. He bought a player for $1.3 mil yesterday and sold 2 players last week for $2.3mil together.
Last month he sold a 20 year old valued at $165k for $4.4 Mil... that team no longer exist. Looks like a possible cheater there...

He has 7 wins in a row.

He has the first place team in goal diff... and just 1 point behind.
*He faces #3 the week after*
He had a walkover PIC win last week!

Can I beat him? Yeah, if I MOTS... What about a normal? There is a good chance... What about a PIC? Doubtful, but possible since he doesn't chance his lineup formation. Do I do this much research on all my matches? Always against new teams, but if I play the same team over and over, no...


So what do you guys think?

i would not use mots as that will not give you an automatic win but it will automatically hurt your team afterwards

The FOFC Cup will start next week regardless of my US Open Cup status. ;)

... but I am representing FOFC as whole now in the US Open Cup (I thought there would be at least 3 of us), so I want some input.

Hey, if you really think you can do it, I'd say MOTS it. As long as that won't screw over your promotion plans (if you have any), then go for it. It's all about the glory. Take them down.

I like Ronnie's reasoning. I'm not sure but how I read your other post, I think you don't expect to promote this season. If I remember right, RavenHawk was talking about 3rd or so for your team. If that's the case, I'd say MOTS the hell out of them. That will hurt your TS, but you should still be able to remain in 3rd or 4th at the worst in your league...

On the other hand, if you really believe you could promote this season and are shooting for it, then I'd say PIC and go for the league...

Just my 2 cents, and remember, they are Canadian money, so it's like 0.00000000002 or your cents ;)

You can take a chance and PIC zyzzerz and play normal on Wednesday with a higher TS.
