I have been invited to a game day tomorrow where this game is on tap. I've played normal A&A, though the last time was a couple of years ago. I can remember the rules well enough, I think, to not make a fool of myself as long as I refresh myself with the book tonight.

If, however, anyone has a link to a strategy guide, or just some general tips/hints for this version of the game, I would appreciate it.

I am not looking to dominate the game (that would be impossible, anyway, considering that these guys play a lot more board games than I do). I just don't want to come off as the suckiest guy at the table.

I never played Europe much, but if it is like the original the key is the first two turns. If the Germans can't knock out the Soviets in the first two turns the production advantage of the Allies will eventually dominate.

Never get involved in a land war in Asia.

I miss Axis & Allies.

I was the fucking shits at that game.

I eventually got tired of playing on the game board and came up with a whole ruleset for playing on National Geographic maps of various locations (countries, regions, whatever). It was pretty fucking epic.

Did you ever get into this A&A 2nd edition game? I played A&A D-Day last night with a buddy. I played as the Axis and held the three cities I needed to hold until the last turn (10 turns).

I'm thinking about getting 2nd edition Europe and Pacific for an outstanding 5' map!
