Ran across this today. Someone changed 'Losing My Religion' from its melancholy minor chord sound and made all of the chords majors. Same song, completely different feel. This appeals to my inner music geek.

Losing My Religion was interesting and not bad, but I'm listening to the version of Riders on the Storm with major chords and it's just disturbing and painful.

Interesting, but much too challenging to listen to these in a positive way. I'd be curious how somebody that had never heard them flipped it and listened to these first and then listened to the original.

I was hoping they'd transform the songs, but to me it just sounds like they were hitting some wrong notes

Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" is strange, too.
That one is more stark of a difference for me.
Do we know if they are playing with the vocals, as well? Hard to believe how different the sound and tone of the vocals appear if not.

Really cool. I think REM made the right choice, but this is a nice change of pace.
