It's the start of a big new storyline - over the next few weeks that opponent is going to give interviews saying how upset he was to see that happen, but then it'll turn out that he gets the next title shot instead of the guy who got hit and needed time to heal. The opponent will act all offended when he's accused of wrong-doing, but then someone will come up with some proof that the opponent and the long-time heel wrestling coach (whom he previously feuded with), were in cahoots the whole time and planned everything.
