i emailed ryan s 4 times explaining to him the situation...he failed to respond to me at any time except for a lame email asking what my id was...so i took actioin on my own...
i explained the situation to skydog..and his respons was...whaaaaaaa.."i dont have to prove anything".TOUGH CRAP SKYDOG..be a man..make assumptions, accusations, whatever..prove your point..you will spend your days wondering if i am some "veteran" of this board and you will not take the time and effort to prove anything...whine some more..

It's got to be somebody like Hornsmaniac or the sort. You think somebody just stubled upon this board, never posted anything about FOF and then gets this bent out of shpae about getting banned? i wasnt "new" i had been a registered member for months and just posted a message at the wrong time...that is my fault.
i am registerd at many other boards, .400 studios, EU2, and some others and very rarely post unless there is something that i decide i want to say...and the treatment i get is accusations and assumptions.
and i guess maybe i do care..i care that i voice an opinion and am kinda new and get banned for what i see as no reason.

bishop, i handled it by emailing ryan 4 times!!! no response except for a "what is your ID?". i handled it by messaging skydog and all i got was..."i dont have to prove anything".
and i wasnt defending horns because i have no idea what he did to defend.
maybe you are right that this isnt the way to handle it, but when i try to handle it professionally and i am ignored or sidestepped then i make it public.

Had he come one and pleaded his case in a mature way, I'm sure he would have gotten a much different response. The responses in this thread is consistent with the responses I have seen in other threads started by 'new' members in a similar fashion.

And considering how Shorty has acted in non-HM threads, that's pretty good evidence that SkyDog doesn't just go around banning people who just disagrees with him.

problem with that is you wont decide on your own..the thread was meant to grab your attention and it did that. i fully went into it expecting not to be agreed with and that is fine. like i said read my other thread in the "guess who horns is" and there you will see that i am immediately accused of being him!

Before I get into this, I have a couple of quick points to make:

1) We have no idea what the situation is. Or we have one side of the situation. For those bashing Skydog and Ryan, I'm wondering why you haven't bothered to look at the other side first.

2) Telling the two moderators to rot in hell is NOT going to get you the respect you are seeking.

3) Writing a poorly worded essay is also not going to get you the respect you are seeking.

4) You people REALLY need to learn what a fanboy is. Most of the people against HM have been bitterly critical of Skydog in the not so distant past and have not been banned. I've yet to see a single person banned for simply calling Skydog a jerk. This is far from a fanboy haven.

OK, so what can we read into the message above? Well, the first line tells anyone other than Skydog or Ryan S not to read it.

We then get into accusations that Skydog made and asking Skydog to back them up. At this point, we have zero idea what accusation Skydog ever made. If anyone did get by the first line, they are probably gone by this point in the essay.

Then we finally figure out a little bit of what this is about. This is followed by "I don't care what happens to me" and then a long winded explanation that if he had 1000+ posts none of this would be happening.

Now, I could be wrong, but I believe Horns had over 1000 posts, so Skydog has proven that post count isn't a criteria for removal already.

I need more facts before determining wheather your post has merit or not. The way it was written leads me to lean against you from the start. . . sorry, that's just me.

It's like every single post you make recently (that I have seen) is either a mean spirited jab at someone or the board in general.

Now, I'll admit I don't read every thread, but of the ones I have read, it would appear that Bishop is right in that there are a few people here that argue or otherwise "attack" everyone else because they are disgruntled at the board in general over the whole HM thing.

If it takes someone 2 or 3 times as long to read what you write as opposed to a well written message, they will either 1) Not read it, 2) Read it, but by the end simply not care, 3) Think you're an idiot.

Now explain to me how any of those 3 things accomplishes any of your goals.

bishop, i dont feel you all are attacking me. im well aware that the majority will defend skydog in his actions. im not mad at you (and im sure you wouldnt care if i was) or anyone else but skydog and the lack of a response from ryan. and honeslty its not mad that i am, its more of irritation that people automatically jump to conclusions. i also am not asking anyone to agree with me w/o reading/hearing skydogs side. that is only fair. there is usually 3 sides to every story, mine, his, and the truth right? this is my side.

I think itsmade tons of sense, and everything this "small group" says makes sense continuosly...i have supported HM in threads, so you make call me one of the few, but i honestly see this point so clear...he goes after ryan and skydog because they are the ones that went after him...his old accounts he was very active at telling the facts to everyone, and the majority turned away blind to the facts due to your suppost of Sky...

I am and have been a big fan of what this board does...its not just an FOF board, the dynasties and hattrick forums are great, and i once thought GD was great...i started off a so called "dynasty boy," sticking to that forum and avoiding the general discussion in favor of tales of X-Com and many others...then i was slowly pulled in with interests to the GD when everyone got along like in the Dynasty forum(where everyone still gets along)...HM was not even a member yet, as were many of you not yet at this board...ive been here for 2+ years...only recently have i begun posting more frequently due to a problem i see...the "majority"(like 20 out of 2,500) is turning into the fanboys i was so gald our board didn't have...since then this board and GD hav become less and less fun, and i again find myself sticking to the dynasty forum and hattrick now much more than the GD....it used to be a place where we had honorable intellectual debates, and now we only argue...im sorry you are oblivious to the points made, but they are valid points...don't discredit it because of his lack of posts...shorty and i are two big posters on this board(with shorty having the # and me the experience...) never said skydog said i was horns. in fact he said he didnt think i was horns when i messaged him. he said he thought i was an fof veteran hiding with a new id and banned me for that reason. it was in the original thread "guess who horns is.." that i was thought to be horns right away because of my post count. also, skydog never explained to anyone what his reasons were am i mistaken?
ryan did get back to me for one message, so it wasnt a lack of time. he asked me "what is your id" and that was it.
what i said to skydog in the messages was for him to prove that i was someone, and take the time to research it before banning me. he said he didnt have to prove anything and didnt care and that his stance would not change. we went back and forth on this for awhile. i acted much differently to him than the thread of this post. i acted out of disgust with the thread of this post and have apologized for it, but cant take that back. skydog never gave me a chance to prove anything nor did he prove any of his perceptions and assumptions. anything else?

Hey, Blade, I don't know if this is aimed at me, but I for one think your writing, while perhaps borderline, is a little more comprehensible than Brutus's has been. You seem to be familiar with the period button and the carriage return, for instance. You occasionally capitalize the first word in your sentences.

I'm not mocking you. These are real things you do in your posts that Brutus doesn't that makes you a lot more readable.

I was just amazed at how similar your posts were to the one Blade made above where he told somebody to go to hell. I just thought it was humorous - he had no capital letters, lots of ellipses, and told someone to go to hell. I swear, I'm really having trouble telling your and his posts apart!

All due respect Blade, but you were not here when the cocky and funny thing originated. The first tiem HM posted it, and even the 5th and 6th time he did, he did NOT get flamed on it. It started out as a simple discussion. Several members disagreed with him, some others did agree.

What happened was that HM got all pissy because most people did not agree with what he did. So he went and made a mockery of himself when he came on bragging about how he got the phone number of some chick online using his "cocky and funny" routine. (The funniest thing was the chat log he posted. I thought he was neither cocky nor funny, and the girl was obviously a dimwit). And the whole thing just snowballed into one gigantic joke.

So anyway, if you want to know why his cocky and funny thing gets joked about a lot, it's because there is A LOT of history behind it, not because people just disagree and so they "flame away".

well KWhit, i understand you arent trying to bash me. im not trying to bash you and didnt start this thread to start a fight with any of you.
capitlization has nothing to do with grammar though. ive gone to college, graduated, have a job, and properly structure my essays or memos when needed. oh, and i capitalize too. what i write can be read w/o spelling errors or the like. i will grant you it could be easier to read, but im not here to please everyone. i have no hard feelings towards any of you. like i said before, i fully went into this knowing most would bash me and disagree with me.

My bad, I always took the rolling eye smiley to be a "you're an idiot" sign. So someone says something that you disagree with, but in your followup you post a message agreeing with it, and use the rolling eye smiley to indicate that you think it's stupid to think such a thing....

Well, first of all, allow me to say that this thread might cause marital discord 'round here. It is not good for a man to wake up, be at the computer at 4am, and then proceed to laugh out loud for 10-15 minutes straight. I've had to muffle my mouth at this one. :D

Second, Blacky gave me some GOOD advice way back when I first became a mod when he told me that I should give people enough rope to hang themselves. I should have done that for this guy from day one. I spent some time the last 48 hours trying to make sure this guy couldn't post, then finally I said, "screw it, if I just let him post, he'll show his true colors." And did he ever. Excellent!

Third, this guy CLAIMED to be a veteran member and veteran poster to me. If that is true, then it is 100% cowardly and gutless to show up under a new name to defend a long-time problem child who I recently banned. This is an internet message board for crying out loud. You already have anonymity! At least have the guts to attach your opinion to your own screen name. If he's not a veteran member, then he misrepresented himself from the start.

If any of you REALLY think that Ol' SkyDog gives out automatic permanent bans for attacking me and/or my moderating decisions, talk to Hell Atlantic, kcchief, couriers, Shorty, etc. etc. etc. Ask them how many times I've banned or suspended them, or even threatened to do so.

If any of you REALLY think that I strictly impose my personal morality on this message board, then just read through the QOTM list, view the Survivor Hot Chick threads where women are reduced to objects, or check out any of hundreds of threads where things I would consider immoral are allowed to be discussed.
