The Evolution of vNFL:The Edge
This league concept is centered on creating both a vibrant and deep free agent pool as well as providing incentive for every team to win every game each season and removing the need to finish at the bottom of the standings in order to build a team.
1. Player Contracts: Veteran Players (5th season or more experience) may not be renegotiated with. Once their contract expires the player becomes a free agent.
2. Young players (4th year experience or less) may be renegotiated with and offered a contract through the player's 7th season.
3. The Franchise Tag may only be used o9n a "Face of The Franchise" player. A Face of the Franchise Player is one player that you want to keep above all others. You may franchise him and/or renegotiate with him at will for as long as you like. But it may only be one player. In order to designate a new Face of the Franchise player ( FOFP) vyour old FOFP must either be traded, released or retire.
Rosters: We will be using 2012 NFL rosters. Whether we give teams an NFL roster or fast sim one AI season and then void all the contracts and make every one a free agent is still under discussion.
College Draft: Because there will be such a large free agent pool there will be no need for bad teams to tank or trade away their veterans and lose as many games as possible - they can rebuild through free agency. To further ensure against tanking the college Draft will be changed. The order will be as follow for Round 1

Still open to using this order or the regular order for rounds 2 through 7.
